Stayed here for 3 nights. Initially it was a nightmare to find this place.. location wise it was a fair distance to get to. First impressions, I was disappointed with the room. Seemed different to the photos on booking.com which were misleading. Room was basic but ok. Cleaned daily. We stayed three nights and had a shared bathroom which was another negative. Bathroom was tiny. Literally. Also found ourselves waiting to use it sometimes. The host Emmanuela was pleasant and friendly. No issues there.. However, on returning to the UK, I left an honest review on booking.com stating the above. I then received an email from booking.com to inform me emmauella had reported that we were a no show. Strange! Following this, I went on to booking.com to read some of the previous reviews as I thought maybe it was my review that led her to deny our visit. As expected, all reviews on booking.com were scored 10. Convenient. I have since been in contact with booking.com as it appears reviews are hand selected to appear but only if you rate it as a...
Read moreCurrently sat in my room writing this review. The host is amazing, she is very welcoming and is so friendly. The room is a lovely size and is VERY clean! There are two bathrooms which are shared with the other visitors, which hasn't been a problem at all, we haven't seen them. Emanuella leaves a lovely continental breakfast out for you with lovely coffee pods to help yourself. The locations amazing. I did have to close window at night due to traffic but really wasn't a problem, I'm a very light sleeper, we're at the back of the Vatican, you can walk in 10/15mins or there is a bus at the end of the road (2 mins). Then the metro is 20mins walk then free to go anywhere, its very easy. Get a Roma pass (look online) then can use any transport as long as you have pass). I digress, book here, only here for 3 nights but the price is very good, location is very good and the host is lovely, id stay...
Read moreThis was my second stay at Rose Antiche Vaticano, and once again, it was a wonderful experience. The hosts are genuinely kind and attentive—they do their best to take great care of you and offer helpful advice on how to explore Rome.||The place is very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast is satisfying, with a nice variety: biscuits, cereal with milk, fresh fruit like apples and bananas, eggs, ham and cheese with toast, fruit juice, and coffee. There’s also a traditional Italian sweet, merendina, available.||This year, all the rooms have been newly refurbished, and the entire place looks fantastic. It’s about an 8-minute walk to the passageway which that takes you to Piazza del Vaticano. As you walk down the main road, you can already see the majestic Cupolone—the dome of St....
