In general I would start with our first impression after we arrived at The Sophie Terrace. In this case I have to mention that the hotel - in this case Flo from the reception - got in touch some days ago before our arrival via WhatsApp just to check in when we arrive and that they are looking forward to welcome us. In addition to that they‘ve sent us a map showing how to get from Termini to the Hotel. We already figured that out as it’s‘s quite easy but it just shows the brilliant service of the staff. We arrived in the evening and Abdul - who did the night shift - gave us a warm welcome showed us our room and showed us on a map how easy it is to get to some nice spots - and Rome as plenty of these. He also sent us some tips for food via WhatsApp. The next day we met Flo at the reception and he also gave us some tips etc - also then as a WhatsApp. Both - Flo and Abdul - were super friendly and helpful and understand their job as they really care about their guests. As our flight got cancelled - we had the opportunity to stay longer in Rome and also were able to stay in the hotel and our room. That was very nice and Flo arranged all we needed. The hotel itself is modern and looks very good. The rooms are quite spacious, well arranged and in a very good condition. For a city trip it’s a perfect match as you have everything you need and you feel very comfortable from the start on. What‘s also really great: the rooftop where you can have a drink or two , relax and just enjoy the nice view! Little minus could be the thin walls - we heard someone snoring haha - or as it was a bit too warm in our room but the last thing could easily has been changed as we didn’t use the aircon. All in all: we can highly recommend The Sophie Terrace. It’s well located, the standard is pretty decent and - the real USP - the staff are amazing. Thank you Flo and Abdul for being so kind and helpful!

An incredible stay! This was our anniversary trip as seen from the room that was made up specifically for us to our surprise with rose petals. We were able to quickly and easily locate the hotel, only a short 5 minute walk from the metro. When we arrived we were greeted by the front of house/receptionist Omar who was extremely friendly and welcoming. Omar hands down offered us exceptional service from the welcome, to the surprise room along with the complimentary drinks to explaining the hotel features and nearby attractions. Omar showed us directly to our room on the above floor explaining aspects of the room and offering us opportunities to ask any questions throughout. Laura the house keeper was lovely to make up our room! We were allowed to checkin early (1.5hours before checkin time) due to notification via WhatsApp where Omar contacted us the day prior. Once checked in Omar provided us a map of the city explaining all the nearby attractions! We even received a few messages via WhatsApp with the best restaurant and dessert recommendations! The room and the hotel itself were incredible, well worth the price we paid! Room was fitted with a huge bed, clean sheets, plenty of towels and toiletries as well as a shower, bidet, walk in closet, safe, mini fridge, tv and hair dryer. Great WiFi in the room and through the hotel. Genuinely one of, if THE best experience we have ever had. The hotel staff went above and beyond so huge thanks to Laura, Omar, Leonardo and all the staff! Hotel is in a fantastic location with nearby food, walkable distance to attractions and a great stay overall. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Rome! If we’re back in Rome, we will definitely stay here again.

This was my worst hotel stay ever, and the staff was not helpful at all. I’ve been using Booking.com since the early 2010s and have never faced such issues before. Firstly, I booked a "City View" room but received a "in courtyard view" room instead, facing a basement (looks like a JAIL). The room smelled HORRIBLE, and I initially thought it was from the sinks since it was on the first floor. However, I soon realized the strong VOMIT ODOR was coming directly from the bed. I reported this to the night staff, who also smelled the vomit but couldn’t help since there were no other rooms available. I had to relocate to another hotel in the middle of the night, costing me an extra 240 euros. They told me to come back the next day to discuss the issue with the manager. Later, they lied and told me there was no vomit smell and disposed of all the bed sheets before I arrived. Unsurprisingly, the manager never showed up, and they said they would reach out via WhatsApp to discuss the issue. Now they’re acting like I never stayed at their hotel and refuse to offer any compensation. I couldn’t sleep in their hotel because they failed to meet basic guest expectations. Never again. Stay away.

Highly recommend!! If I could give Sophie Terrace Hotel 10/5, I would - this hotel is in a fantastic location, very clean, great facilities, stunning views from their rooftop terrace and the staff here just made our stay in Rome the very best! I'm sure other places could learn a lot from them!

My friend and I went to Rome to celebrate her birthday. From the moment we stepped in to Sophie Terrace Hotel it was a home away from home. The welcome was very personable from Gabriel, after a long trip he made us feel at ease, he was very friendly and funny, super informative about the area, providing personal recommendations (which should never be under valued!), and offering us a complimentary prosecco on the roof terrace!

My friend was blown away the moment we stepped into our room - the staff had decorated it with balloons and a personalised card to celebrate her birthday! The room itself was a great size, very clean, there was complimentary water in the fridge, coffee/teas provided, the bathroom was clean, the shower had strong water pressure, and to our relief - great air con in the room. The extra bed was available for me but not made up, as soon as I mentioned this - despite saying there was no rush - Gabriel organised for the bed to be immediately made by the wonderful and friendly housekeeping! Once in the room Gabriel said all we had to do was message them on WhatsApp when we were ready for prosecco on their rooftop terrace, we wondered up and despite me saying there was no rush in my message, Gabriel was there within minutes providing the prosecco and snacks! He also advised he had arranged a complimentary breakfast box for us the next morning!

The next day on our return to our room, it was cleaned and tidied with fresh towels and bathroom supplies which was lovely to come back to!

In the evening, Abdul was there to look after us, he was so personable and friendly and it was lovely to hear about his experiences. He was reassuring about our day in Rome (which had some challenges!), and provided helpful information ahead of our next day with our bus tour and, again, provided anything we asked for within minutes (if that!) of asking for it on WhatsApp! The beds were super comfortable, neither of us had any trouble sleeping, and more pillows were available if we needed them.

On our last day a friend of ours (unbeknownst to us) had organised some bubbles for the room, which the staff helped organised and we found on our late return to the room. What a lovely surprise!

The next morning when we checked out we met Flo, who we learned was responsible for helping to organise this, he asked if this was all satisfactory and was so genuine in his care about this. He guided us on how to return safely to the train station to get back to the airport and listened patiently to our talk about our experiences in Rome.

To Gabriel, Abdul, Flo, the housekeeping staff who did a fantastic job with the room and the gentleman who brought the champagne on Sunday 4th May to help continue birthday celebrations - please accept our heartfelt thanks - you truly made this trip one to remember because of YOU, your kindness, generosity and hard work - you really do a fantastic job and should all be proud.

I will be recommending the Sophie Terrace Hotel to everyone I know who wishes to visit Rome! Thank you for helping to create a birthday to...

Firstly, the hotel itself is easy to find -just a few minutes' walk from Termini Station, which is very convenient if you are transferring from the airport(s) It was very easy to find and upon entering, we found it smelled fresh and inviting. The room itself was a fantastic size for a city hotel. We had a very comfortable sleep both nights and had everything we needed. I messaged the staff aead of time to ask whether a note could be left in the room, as we were celebrating a birthday - they went above and beyond and put balloons all over the bed, which was such a nice touch and unexpected. We found the hotel to be in a great location - not too close to everything that it is noisy, but a convenient 15-20 minute walk from the Colosseum and other historical attractions. Now, on to the staff. Just like all the reviews before mine, I'd just like to say that Flo is an absolute credit to this hotel and made our stay even more special than it already was. We also dealt very briefly with a dark-haired gentleman, who was extremely pleasant) Flo greeted us at check-in and spend around 10 minutes offering advice on restaurants, sightseeing routes, 'hidden gems' and transport in Rome. He drew us diagrams and notes on a city map, which became so useful to us during our trip. We took his advice on several restaurants and I would advise you to do the same - he knows where the best food is! He then followed up by sending me a list of tips and advice on WhatsApp; where he is available for you to message if you have any questions or if there are any issues. I can safely say we have never been made to feel more welcome by any member of staff at a hotel and we stay in a different country almost every month. We cannot thank you enough,...
