I rarely ever write bad reviews, but I could not hold myself back from writing what a disappoint this Marriott hotel was in Rome. We have been members of Marriott for over 40-years and never had such a bad experience as this one. For starters, they absolutely rob you on the wine pricing. We had been traveling in Italy for 26 days by the time we got to this Marriott dinner. At not a single meal prior to this one were we charged more than 20 euros for a bottle of wine. This Marriott rooftop restaurant did not have a bottle of wine for UNDER 60 euros on their menu. This is ridiculous. And when we asked our waitress about it, she responded with: "well this is a 5-star high class hotel. This is what you pay for." That is ridiculous Marriott. What are you doing robbing your clients in Italy when the wine is made less than 100 miles from your restaurant. And to add to this ridiculousness....The retail prices of the wine are ONE FOURTH the cost the Marriott is charging you. I understand a little mark up, but FOUR TIMES the retail cost? Come on Marriott. And what disrespect from our waitress. See photos attached. While they have a beautiful rooftop with great views, don't get too excited because for some reason they decided to orient some of their tables to point at the waiters station...see photos attached. They had an "avocado salad" listed on their menu. We had all been craving avocado after being in Italy for so long and not having any. When they brought us these salads, it did not have avocado, it had "guacamole spread." Our waitress claims that is what it was and said we read the menu wrong, even though the menu says the word "avocado" on it. Nothing like telling a customer they are wrong....great service Marriott. Additionally, the lettuce in this salad was legit RABBIT FOOD. Absolutely disgusting. We told the waitress it legit tasted like diesel and she said: "okay, that's your opinion." and took the salads away and left them on the bill at the end of the night. Got Martini's and were told they had Blue Cheese Olives for them. They brought out the Martini's, we bit into the olives, they had pits in the middle of them....not Blue Cheese Olives. Charged us on the bill for Blue Cheese Olives though. We received our pasta dinner and it WAS SERVED COLD. It was legit COLD. And we had to ask the waitress to heat it up for us. They then proceeded to make us an entire new pasta dish and then DIDN'T COOK THE PASTA ENOUGH. We did not have the heart to tell them of their failure. Overall, summary of our terrible experience: - Marriott ROBS you on the wine prices here. See photos attached. - The staff is NOT accommodating OR nice. Very rude people. A lot of eye rolls. - The food sucked. It was so far from good and so overpriced. Very sad to see from a brand that we have stood behind for over 40-years. Expected to feel at home when going to dinner here and finally comfortable outside the country. But sadly my family felt the complete and disappointing opposite.

Hands down the best Marriott property to stay in the heart of Rome! We just returned from a two week trip through Italy, which included a five night stay at the Pantheon Iconic, an Autograph Collection hotel in the Marriott line-up. I am SO glad we chose this hotel - tucked away on a quiet street around the corner from the Pantheon in a largely pedestrian area, where any direction you choose when you step out of the hotel leads you to a walk down narrow cobblestone streets past shops, restaurants, delightful piazzas, gelato shops, historic churches, and ancient buildings. It was like staying in a village, where pedestrians rule the streets, and an enjoyable stroll leads you to most of the major sights of Rome. For the few sights not within walking distance, a short walk down a side street pops you out to a central bus stop, where it is easy to connect to get to other parts of Rome. The hotel itself is beautiful and modern. We loved our room (it was a King deluxe), with the incredible, specialized lighting, modern decor, and *gorgeous* closet valets (even those had specialized lighting!). The king bed was supremely comfortable, and the sheets were the most luxurious of all the properties we stayed at on our trip - definitely the highest grade of Italian bedding! The bathroom was a tad on the small side, but beautifully appointed. We ate breakfast each day at the Divinity Restaurant - unfortunately it was still cool enough that the terrace was not open, but the restaurant was lovely and the service top notch. Part of what made our stay particularly memorable was the attention to detail and service provided by the guest relations at the front desk - grazie mille Valentina, Valerio and Andrea! I exchanged several emails with them prior to our trip iin the process of asking for recommended restaurants, and then securing dinner reservations for us. They were all so kind, and genuinely interested in helping to make our stay enjoyable. They also provided expert assistance in recommendations for a day trip down to the Amalfi coast (long day but totally worth it!). During our five days in Rome, we toured several other Marriott properties in Rome, as we plan to come back . . . none of them have the location of the Pantheon Iconic, in combination with the amenities and modern decor. We will be back soon, and will definitely choose the Pantheon Iconic for our home away from home while in Rome!

Ah, The Pantheon Iconic Rome hotel – where the echoes of ancient gods meet the murmurs of modern-day mortals clutching their designer bags and selfie sticks. Nestled in the heart of history, this Marriott International marvel proves that you can indeed put a price on sleeping within a stone’s throw of architectural mastery. From the moment you step in, you’re greeted with the kind of opulence that makes you wonder if Julius Caesar himself might pop around the corner asking if you’ve seen his laurel wreath. The lobby is so stunning, you half expect a Roman centurion to check you in, handing over your key card with a solemn oath to Mars. The rooms? Oh, the rooms! Each one meticulously designed to ensure that if a Roman deity ever decided to slum it for a night, they’d feel right at home. The beds are so comfortable, you’d swear they were stuffed with clouds plucked straight from Zeus’ own collection, offering dreams of conquests, gladiatorial victories, or perhaps just getting a table at that overly exclusive trattoria down the street. Let’s not forget the view – some rooms offer vistas so breathtakingly close to the Pantheon, you can practically play peek-a-boo with the oculus. It’s an experience so immersive, you might find yourself tossing coins over your shoulder into the bath, mistaking it for the Trevi Fountain. The dining experience? A culinary Colosseum where every meal is a battle for your taste buds’ affection – and believe me, they emerge victorious every time. The chefs craft dishes with the kind of flair and finesse that would make even Apicius feel a tad insecure about his cookbook. But what truly sets The Pantheon Iconic Rome apart is the staff’s ability to make you feel like both a revered guest and a part of the furniture – an impressive feat, considering some of that furniture might just be antiques that have seen more history than we’ve read about. In summary, staying at The Pantheon Iconic Rome hotel is like stepping into a time machine, only to find out it’s a luxury suite. It’s an experience so uniquely splendid, you’ll leave feeling like a modern-day patrician, ready to toss your toga in the laundry basket and declare, “I came, I saw, I luxuriated.”

Let me preface this review by stating I stay in tons of Marriotts for work and have been to numerous property’s and have never left a review until now. Prior to booking my stay in Rome I read all the reviews on the Marriott property’s to help decide which one is best, I loved the location and look of this hotel, however it did not have the best reviews, but I decided to look past and take a chance. I was wrong, the bad reviews are valid.

We pull up to the hotel and walk in and think wow this is a stunning hotel, this feeling quickly vanished after waiting almost 30 minutes in line to check in at the front desk. The service is beyond slow, no one acknowledged those waiting, or offered a drink nothing. We finally check in and things are fine in are room, beautiful updated high tech room with a great view.

We invite our friends to the rooftop for drinks before going out to dinner, we had a group of 11. My husband and I and we’re there first saving a spot for the group and didn’t have a single person come up to us for over 20 minutes to ask us for are order. I had to go up and ask one of the three servers just standing around talking to take it, he gave me plenty of attitude as well. Thinking that’s the end of the delayed service I was wrong! Our friends show up and want to order a drink and my husband and I our second drinks and what do you know not a single server comes to the table again! Many friends went straight to bar sick of waiting (30min). I again go up and ask if we can order, he comes takes are drink orders. I order a wine Sangiovese off the drink menu and he takes it and walks away. He comes back with everyone’s drinks and I never get my wine, I wait a while and Never get it. I ask one of the servers to check and he never gets back to me. I try again and ask another and he says we don’t even have that wine it’s all out. I’m like what?? Why would you take my order and not even tell me it’s out of stock! So frustrating, moral of this story the customer service sucks at the rooftop which is a sham because it’s million dollar views up there!

Moving on, I have a bag of clothes sent down to be cleaned, I was told they would be ready the following day between 6-9pm. Guess what they never came during that time frame. I call the front desk and they say sorry we couldn’t deliver you have a do not disturb sign on your door, which is a lie we did not. They state they will send it up right away. The bellman drips it off and guess what it’s only 3 items out of like 15 or something. I call back down in a panic as we leave the following morning at 4am for a flight to milan. She says are you sure you sent more stuff and I said absolutely! An hour later they find the remaining clothes and send it up. After making sure all items are there, we realize a pair of my husbands white shorts are missing. I call down and she says she can’t find them and will have to mail them to us, this is super annoying but at that point it was fine as long as we got them back.

After checking out I emailed someone at Marriott detailing the events above and my frustration and they responded with that I was lying about the missing shorts. Why would I lie about this? We searched high and low and know for a fact they were sent down! In addition when I sent the email to the property I noticed I left my brand new Birkenstock’s in the room and asked if they could send them with the shorts, the Marriott rep states house keeping did not find them as there was nothing in the room this is also a lie! I wore them the evening before back to our room and went no where else. I know that the staff must have kept them since they were new. Extremely disappointed in this Marriott property as I always rave and always choose them as my main hotel chain when traveling for work and decided to make the decision on my personal travels as well. Overall beautiful property but the poor service outweighs the nice hotel. Look elsewhere, plenty of...

At this hotel now, and we're pretty disappointed with the property. The rooms are well appointed (with a few exceptions), but there's really not much else to set it apart. Might also be worth mentioning that Platinum status doesn't mean anything here. A short list of some of our issues:

The lights in the room will turn on and off at random throughout the night. The control panel has five buttons, and different lights will turn on each time it happens, so if they dont turn back off by themselves then you'll have to figure out which ones are on and which ones are off - at 3 in the morning. Dont plan on a good night's rest. We went to get gelato after dinner, and planned to eat that and enjoy our complimentary wine on the terrace. When we got up there at about 10 PM, there were no other guests there. We were immediately asked to leave because outside food is not allowed. The hotel website really makes it seem like this is a hotel ammenity to be used for relaxing, but it is definitely not - it's for the use of bar and restaurant patrons. Save the premium on the hotel room, stay someplace else, and just get a drink here if you're really interested in the view. It's pretty close to the Pantheon, but not quite as close as the name suggests - probably two blocks. This is still convenient enough to grab a cab at the tourist site, since the doormen won't get one for you. The shower is big, but has no shelves, and there are no traditional towel racks. There's sort of a rack on the exposed hot water heater in the bathroom though... The check in process took forever. We had to get a tour of the property and instructions on our room before we were able to enjoy anything. The tv is a bit cumbersome.
