This hotel is VERY centrally located. Walkable to MANY attractions, extensive dining and shopping footsteps away. |The staff is VERY attentive and the cleanliness is superior. The free breakfast was much appreciated with many buffet food choices. |Rooms were the average size complete with mini fridge, hair dryer etc. |My only complaint was being forced to sweat through the night. |One of the reasons we chose this hotel was that it advertised A/C throughout. |However, when we couldn’t get the room cooled down, we were told the “ ac wasn’t turned on yet since it’s not the season but the heat was off “ ?????|Um … daytime temps were near 80 F and people have diff temp needs. |We tried having the windows open but the NOISE wasn’t helping. Keep in mind we live in NYC so we’re no strangers or overly sensitive street sounds. |Metal gates going up ? Down ? At all hours … shouting … motorcycles … |We had to shut the windows but again… too hot to sleep. |This hotel would’ve rated 5 stars and been described as EXCELLENT if they would just allow the guests to regulate the temp. of the rooms. |Depending on the season … I could recommend it. |A shout out to the concierge who provided us with a brown bag breakfast due to our early...
Read moreGreat location and very clean. Strangely they took copies of both of our passports. We have never had that happen to us before. The AC was cold and worked!. Old school physical key. Room was a decent size. Large bathroom. Shower was a bit awkward to use . Not enough room inside the shower. Narrow rectangular shape. Pull help cord in the shower not a bathroom fan. Only shower gel in the shower. No shampoo or conditioner . Liquid hand soap by the sink also. No lotion. Free water in the mini fridge. 1 sparkling and 1 stilled water. Room is very clean. The whole hotel is clean and smells clean. Breakfast had many options and is great( bacon, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, granola, yogurt, fruit, crossaint, toast, cream cheese, pies, muffin, coffee, espresso machine etc etc). No iron in the room but upon request it is provided. Many stairs and hallways. Take a picture of the route to your room that's posted behind your room door. Easy to get lost otherwise. They have tiny elevators but were preferred to use the stairs. Room was quiet as requested . Location is fantastic, just a few steps from the pantheon etc. Took the leonardo express and bus 40 to the hotel. Bus stop is less than a 5 min walk...
Read moreAlbergo Santa Chiara has an excellent location near the Pantheon, and within walking distance of most of the sites you'd want to see in Rome. It's on the pricier side, especially for double-occupancy rooms. The rooms vary in quality and amenities, so you could luck out and get a very nice room, or you could be stuck on the 4th floor, with an elevator that only goes to the third.
The first time we stayed here, almost everything went well. Unfortunately, at checkout I was told my rooms were paid for, but that wasn't the case. Our vendor ended up paying for our rooms and needing to be reimbursed. This same problem happened the second time we visited. So, their front desk staff needs some improvement on the checkout procedures.
For my second visit, one of our rooms had an electrical problem that persisted until after 23:00. It took some doing to have them adjust the price, which I am thankful to say they did after multiple objections to doing so.
This is a nice place to stay in a great location if you don't mind those little hassles, and if you don't mind taking a chance on what kind of room...
