What I liked a lot is that this hotel is brand new and the architecture and interiors are very beautiful with many interesting details. The breakfast selection was great too. But there were just too many aspects why things didn’t work.

The breakfast was chaotic: at the beginning anything wasn’t ready YET and closer to the end they were about to run out of everything ALREADY (things like cutlery and even water, not to mention certain dishes and coffee. Two morning out of three it wasn’t possible to get enough/at all coffee even though we were there a half an hour after the start or before the end of breakfast time. Most of staff was running around and it seemed that there was no one to supervise the breakfast team and guide the whole show. Just a complete mess, though they clearly tried! The service at the roof bar wasn’t great - these ones didn’t even seem to try.

You can barely recognize that someone is a staff member as they all are dressed very casually, which is not a bad thing but there should be something to see clearly who is working there and who is just a customer.

The reception (if you can call it one) was chaotic as well and you are supposed to complete the check in info and make a room key by yourself using one of the tablets set on the table, so everyone can easily see the info you’re inserting (confidential info rules exist for a reason), so you’re kinda doing the work which is meant to be done by a receptionist while paying pretty much for the non excising service.

There are no rooms with separate beds in the hotel. I was visiting with a friend. Okay, sleeping in a double bed wasn’t that much of a problem but they couldn’t even provide separate duvets!

We visited in mid June and the pool couldn’t be used at all and the roof top bar only after 5pm. Still we couldn’t get any discount for these inconveniences (we booked before the hotel was opened and there were all the promises of the great extras and the price was along with that).

The tv didn’t work. It didn’t show neither channels nor there was an option to connect a phone to listen to music or use apps like YouTube.

There were no buckets providing the info about available extra services of the hotel (sometimes you can find that using the tv but as said, it wasn’t working).

The location was okay and walking from the station doable, the trains didn’t bother much, but wouldn’t probably choose this one another time. All in all, a pretty disappointing experience, especially when paying a proper amount of money (it was more than 600€ for 3 nights) for a pretty...

Disappointing Ongoing Stay My current stay at The Social Hub in Rome has been a major disappointment, despite the hotel’s promising branding and high pricing. While there are a couple of redeeming features, the overall experience has been frustrating and far below expectations. The air conditioning in our room is barely functional, which is a significant issue in Rome’s intense heat. Despite reporting the problem, it hasn’t been properly resolved, leaving us uncomfortable and restless. For a hotel of this standard, a working AC is a basic necessity that has not been delivered. Breakfast, which comes at a steep price, has been another letdown. When we asked about allergies, the staff provided vague and unhelpful answers, which is concerning for anyone with dietary needs. This lack of clarity felt dismissive and unsafe. Additionally, breakfast service ends at 10:30 AM, but the staff starts clearing food well before, showing little consideration for guests still eating. This rushed approach undermines what should be a pleasant dining experience. The attitude of some staff members has been a recurring issue. Simple questions are often met with curt or unclear responses, making it difficult to get straightforward information. This lack of warmth creates an unwelcoming vibe, which is surprising for a place marketed as a lively “social hub.” On a positive note, the bathroom in our room is modern and well-designed, which is a small plus. Additionally, there’s a great pizza place right at the hotel, which has been a highlight—offering delicious food and a convenient dining option. Rome itself, of course, remains a beautiful city, but that’s no reflection on the hotel. The amenities, while numerous, are confusing and overly controlled. Navigating the facilities feels unnecessarily complicated, with unclear instructions and restrictions that detract from the guest experience. Given the high cost of our stay, we expected a seamless and enjoyable experience, but instead, we’ve faced constant frustrations. Overall, The Social Hub in Rome falls short of its promise. The malfunctioning AC, unhelpful staff, disappointing breakfast, and convoluted amenities overshadow the few positives, like the great pizza place and nice bathroom. I hope management addresses these issues, as the potential is there, but the current experience is far from satisfactory. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel until significant...

My stay at this hotel was deeply disappointing due to multiple service failures, lack of basic amenities, and complete absence of follow-up from management, despite my attempts to resolve the issues respectfully in person.

Upon arrival, my room was missing essential items such as tissues, bottled water, and a “Do Not Disturb” sign. Housekeeping did not clean the room for two consecutive days, and despite multiple requests, the supplies were never replenished. Trash began to pile up. The only time I received water was once—when I was handed two cans from the bar in the lobby, which was appreciated but far from a solution.

On my final day, I explicitly asked reception not to send housekeeping. Despite this, a staff member entered my room without knocking while I was sleeping. When I confronted him, he claimed I should have placed a “Do Not Disturb” sign—which was never provided at check-in. This was both a violation of privacy and a direct disregard for my clear instructions.

Another major issue involved the in-room safe. It malfunctioned and would not open despite entering the correct code. I urgently requested assistance, as I was about to leave for a prepaid tour. The maintenance staff arrived late and without urgency. I ended up missing my tour and losing €150. I was offered a €19 breakfast as compensation, which I declined as it was not a fair or proportional resolution.

I raised all of these issues in person twice. I made it clear I was looking for a resolution and only considering a public review if I received no follow-up. The reception manager was polite, considerate, and apologetic—something I truly appreciated. She promised to escalate the matter to the hotel manager and get back to me. Unfortunately, that never happened. I checked out with no resolution, no compensation, and no formal acknowledgment.

This experience reflects poor management, disregard for guest privacy, and failure to meet even basic hospitality standards. Until major improvements are made, I do not recommend...

A Refreshingly Real Stay – Even Better Than a 5-Star Hotel I've been staying at The Social Hub in Rome for over a week now and will be here a little longer. Honestly, I’m glad a friend told me about this place sooner. It’s affordable, welcoming, and has this casual comfort that actually feels a bit like home. As a solo traveler, that means a lot. You don’t feel isolated here — the vibe is social but relaxed, and the energy is warm and genuine. The staff and interns deserve a special shoutout. They're friendly, approachable, and always willing to help. You can tell they care about creating a good experience for everyone. The rooms are spacious, modern, and impressively clean. A big step up from a typical hotel room in Rome. There's a thoughtful design here that makes it easy to settle in and feel comfortable. For some perspective, the last time I was in Rome, I stayed at the Baglioni Hotel Regina, an absolutely elegant 5-star hotel averaging $900 a night. It was luxurious, with high-end service, classic decor, and over-the-top concierge perks. They even woke the chef at 4 am to make us lasagna after a night out (delicious, but probably full of mystery ingredients). And yet, despite all that luxury, I genuinely prefer The Social Hub. It’s real, it’s smart, and it’s designed for people who value connection, comfort, and a bit of personality in their stay. Whether you're solo, working remotely, or just looking for something more grounded than a traditional hotel, this place is a gem. Highly recommend.

Beautifully designed hotel with great style and comfort The best thing about this hotel is definitely its design — super modern and beautifully styled. There are countless cozy seating areas both inside and outside; we actually wished we could have stayed longer in Rome just to enjoy all the spaces. We loved the pool table right in front of the elevators — a fun way to start the day. It’s clear that this is a new or recently renovated building — everything feels brand new and well thought out. A nice gesture was the free water and cookies at reception. Speaking of which, the manual check-in desks were convenient and user-friendly. The room was spacious and had everything we needed, though it lacked some small toiletries like cotton pads or makeup pads, and room slippers would have been a nice touch. The room design was also excellent, and the pillows were incredibly light and comfortable. We didn’t need to use the air conditioning — the temperature was perfect. The garden with all the swings was a lovely bonus. There’s a tram line right in front of the hotel — it runs quite slowly but seems to be the closest public transport link to the city center. Although the hotel is technically close to Termini station, getting there with luggage can be a bit of a challenge due to limited transport options. Still, overall, this is a very nice hotel — stylish, modern, and relaxing.
