To miejsce podbiło nasze serca i żołądki.

This wasn’t my first time in Rome, but it’s the first time I’ll leave the city with truly unforgettable culinary memories – all thanks to La Pecora Pazza, a small family-run gem tucked away on Via Statilia.

From the outside, the place looks modest, almost unassuming. But step inside, and you’re welcomed into something truly special. I was there with a group of ten friends, and we discovered it by pure chance – and instantly fell in love.

The food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor, made with fresh ingredients and remarkable attention to detail. From appetizers to desserts, everything was exceptional. This is real Italian cooking, crafted with heart and passion.

The service? Warm, kind, and genuinely welcoming. The owners made us feel like family – their hospitality was as memorable as the food itself.

We came back three times during the same stay, and we will definitely return every time we’re in Rome. We absolutely fell in love with this restaurant and the people behind it.

Highly recommended – an experience to savor, to share, and...

We had lunch there in late September 2025. The street front of the building is under construction, and it was worth every minute to step around the stones and open the door.

Upstairs is a little café, looks like nothing much.

Walk in, smile say ciao and then tell them how many in your party and they will bring you downstairs to a little spot of Roman paradise.

The environment is simple, wooden chairs, some booths. Menu is traditional, with pastas and meats and salads and pizza. The menu is in English too if needed.

There was a man and woman running the place, it was 3 o’clock in the afternoon, so we were the only party downstairs. They were very friendly, very helpful and the food was excellent.

We had the spicy spaghetti with mushrooms, the gnocchi, the carbonara, a pizza, and a salad. I think the spaghetti with mushroom sauce was the BEST meal so far in Italy, I’ve been here for a week.

The prices were very reasonable. And house wine is...

Pros: 1. Food was good value for money. Probably the biggest portions we’ve seen around and good enough quality , especially the pizza. 2. The waiter was nice and gave us free liqueur for waiting a long time for the food. Cons: 1. We waited 40 minutes for the food. That could have been ok since we’ve come to learn that Italian restaurants can be slow, but oddly enough, 3 tables seated and ordered after us got their food before us. By the time the food arrived we were hungry and ready to leave. 2. We ordered the Cod fish pasta, and there was a piece of something thick and hard that appeared to be plastic and I nearly choked on it. We showed this to the staff and they said it was probably just a bone, no apologies. Well, that was a big thick bone for a boneless plate of fish pasta. 3. The house wine was the worst we’ve had in our 2 weeks in Italy.

"Papa"! Absoluter Tipp!
