My friend and I liked this restaurant so much, we went twice in the 3 days we were in the area! Firstly, the restaurant is very sweet, clean and well laid out and their outdoor seating area is very cute! The two girls serving were so attentive and friendly, just made the whole experience very homey and welcoming.
The food options are very reasonably priced and there are many regional Roman dishes available. We had the Innkeeper platter which came with delicious ginger jam and local honey, meat and cheese and was more than enough for 2 people. We followed it with carbonara which was rich but not too heavy, and the oxtail stew - it was glorious, the meat was so tender and the stew itself was delicious.
The second time we went, we started with the chickpea velouté with bacon, the potato flan with cheese fondue - both gorgeous and very flavourful. We had the mint pesto pasta which was fresh and creamy and the amatriciana, lovely and came with crispy bacon in the delicious tomato sauce.
Both times we had the 'gentle' tiramisu which is MUST-HAVE - excellent balance of flavour and texture - and also the ricotta mousse, fresh berries and wonderfully crunchy biscuit crumble.
Please see below all the deliciousness! Would 100% recommend this restaurant as it ticks all the boxes. It is authentic, cosy and delicious and the staff were as great as the...

After reading Eat Pray Love, I came to Rome expecting to find great food, and this place lived up to my expectations. And that is no understatement.
Here’s what I ate. My friend and I started with a glass of a crisp and softly tart local white wine recommended by the owner along with piping hot, fat and buttery, juicy plumps of porcini mushroom, then continued on a gut-busting journey through heart-warming amatriciana bucatini, followed by anchovy meatballs encrusted with breadcrumbs, lamb sweetbreads, braised radicchio, oxtail, lamb liver... it was one plate then another, then another, and another. I’m sure I forgot one. But it was all delicious. We ended with tiramisu and another dessert whose name I don’t remember, but it combined pear, sliced almonds, and dried fruits in some kind of delicious firm pudding-like thing. Plus “vin santo” (dessert wine), plus espresso. I left with a huge half-drunk smile on my face and a sopping happy food baby...
Read moreThe food here was average, but nothing special. The pasta was under seasoned and the lamb dish consisted largely of bones. Not what I would expect from a restaurant with such high reviews, but not the end of the world. The service, however was completely unacceptable. The server was a large, surly woman who appeared to be married to the owner. She would not speak to us, she merely grunted in our direction, and food and drinks were slammed down in front of us. At one point, she threw the bread basket onto the table. Her attitude was shocking, it was the rudest service I have ever received. We complained to the manager, who excused her behaviour by saying "what do you expect for €50?" If potential customers expect to be treated with respect and decency - no matter the price of the meal, I urge you to dine...
