B&B I Gioielli — Hotel in Tropea

Always wanted to visit Tropea and booked this self contained apartment which turned out to be a renovation in Pasquale’s late grandfathers’ house.|Kitchen dining area with bedroom and shower room make up the Accomodation with a communal terrace above accessed by a steep spiral staircase that this aged gentleman opted not to attempt!|My host, Pascquale, was most welcoming and extremely helpful.|I enjoyed my stay here but would just point out that the sea view is limited and not even an estate agents “stone throw” would be an acceptable description of how far away it was!! |The only disappointment, in this day and age, was that the only (small) tv was on a wall in the small dining/kitchen area that meant sitting in an uncomfortable raffia seat to watch. |But don’t let any of this put you off, I enjoyed a magical two night stay in relative comfort in the centre of a wonderful village that has not, yet, been ruined...

Pro|Welcoming and friendly host.|Super clean apartment.|Well stocked kitchen and bathroom.|Bedding comfortable. Felt new.|Good location near town.||Con|Very little natural light in the apartment. It’s a dark hole for the most part.|There is no sea view without a severe crane of the neck when you are standing on the tiny balcony. Misadvertised.|Very steep staircase to terrace. Impossible for elderly people to access. Difficult to take food and drink up there to relax.|Couch and tv set up is not comfortable at all. Ends up being unusable space.|We paid a lot for a large apartment but ended up not really being able to use the amenities we paid for due to the above reasons.|Town is overtouristed with unreasonable high food prices.||We could not get comfortable here. It was dark, terrace hard to access and tv/ couch set up...

We had an amazing time in Tropea! We stumbled upon this incredible apartment right in the heart of the action, and everything is just a short walk away. It’s so peaceful that you can sleep soundly.

Pasquale was a really friendly guy who was always there to help us with anything we needed. The apartment is huge and fully equipped with everything you could ever want. There’s even a terrace upstairs where you can enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink with a beautiful view. And the best part? There’s a garage! It’s in a ZTL, but Pasquale gave our license plates to the police, so we were all set.

I can’t recommend this place enough! If we ever visit Tropea again, we’re definitely...
