A very charming Inn located in Venice. I originally booked this hotel because it had a shuttle from cruise terminal checked in amenities but then the day of we realized it costs 90 euros water taxi to get there. We were upset but we were on vacation so we let it go and enjoyed the ride there. Once we got to the hotel the staff was very helpful and nice. We had a chance to explore before our room was ready. You must go to Dal Moro's Fresh pasta to go! It's the only place I found that actually makes fresh pasta. Once our room was available it was a nice size room, comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, and a nice view. We loved the feel of this hotel even though you have to walk up stairs with no elevator it's only a couple of floors but make sure to use muscles to carry your luggage. If we ever go back to Venice we would definitely stay here again. The directions given to find the water taxi to the airport is kinda hard to follow (right, left, over a bridge, and left) make sure to use google maps (walking) and don't be afraid to ask people walking around for the Rialto Bridge. They will help you. I saw a review where some one said they missed their flight bec of bad directions. Just ask, they...
Read moreArrived in Venice by train and met by a persistent porter who insisted on taking our 2 cabin luggage down the steps to water bus. We were quite able to carry them down slipway on right hand side . I hadn’t wanted the porter so left hubby with him. At bottom of steps I insisted we take our luggage and get our own tickets as we are quite able to ! Tried to explain to this porter and we would give him a small tip for carrying down the Station steps for us. To our shock he wanted 10€ ? We refused and he became aggressive and abusive , hubby gave 3€ but he wanted more, wouldn’t leave us alone kept argueing with us. I told him to away and leave us alone. He did in the end but not before making a scene in front of everyone . We may be in our mid 70’s and hesitated at top of the steps. to look at everything in front of us and that was his cue. So beware,it wasn’t a great start to our trip to Venice. The room was nice and comfortable with tea & coffee. Fridge . Nice balcony , very peaceful . Would definitely come here again. It is easy to miss door, we walked passed a couple of times but got there in the...
Read moreGoogle maps had a hard time with finding the exact location. There is a side street/archway with Sotoportego Scaleta over it. Go down this street and it is on the right. it is a door and a doorbell. ring it and they will unlock the door for you. Very clean and comfortable with an air conditioner in the bedroom! We had a detached bathroom across the sitting room that was all ours. Although there were guests in the other room on our floor, we never saw them. There is no air conditioning in the bathroom so it will be humid and a challenge when drying hair (just go with it...you are in Venice!) and the shower is very small, but wasn't a deal breaker for us. The Shower will be a challenge for tall or larger people. There is an elevator for the luggage only and all rooms require climbing stairs. There is a small breakfast room (on the same floor as the checkin desk) or room service for breakfast (which we one day, very good). You need to arrange this ahead....
