Read moreA very basic room. Great location, close to one of my favourite italian seafood restaurant in Venice. Unfortunately that is the only thing I liked about the place.||We were given a room in the “satellite” hotel, situated 5mins walk away. The reception is literally operational approximately from 8-9am. So any problems you would have to walk to the main hotel reception. ||Room was clean. Bathroom was dirty. Could see hair hanging from the shower head. Bathroom sink platform was cracked. Bathroom door doesn’t close properly. I emailed the hotel person in charge if the hotel was affected by last week’s flood, she said no. When we first entered the room, we noticed doors were stiff and wood damages (probably from previous floods). ||A word of advice, if the rooms are cheap in Venice (we paid €220/4 nights), there is always a catch. Ground floor rooms are always cheaper. I found the room noisy because it’s right next to the reception, main door and the window facing the alley way. Even though we were close to the reception where the wifi router is, we had absolutely no wifi signal in the room (apart from the toilet), and worse poor 3G signal too. So we had to stay in the reception area for wifi to research our daily plans.||Overall, we had a nice time in Venice but the accommodation was a bit...
Read moreWe stayed for 2 nights and by far, f all the hotels we stayed across Italy in the past 8 days in Rome, Florence and Milan before, this one’s the best. The bathroom was nice and spacious. The room was clean and spacious. Loved the designs on the furniture…. Very Veniceyy… LoL!
It’s 15 minutes walk from the train station, or take the waterbus althats just 5 mins walk and one stop away. Line 2.
The girl at the checkin was pleasant and very helpful. She marked restaurants and good gondola starting spots around the area. We like trying the local food, she listed us 3 of her favorites, 2 of which are now mine too. Haha!
All in all, a very pleasant stay… and I strongly recommend it. When (not if) we visit Venice again, this will be the first place we try and get a room at.
Thank you Hotel Leonardo.
