Stayed here a couple of months ago via Booking.com, and experienced the worst hotel stay in Venice ever. This dingy, almost prison cell like room wasn’t only very unpleasant without any daylight but the person claiming to be the manager refused to switch me to another room nor was she willing to cancel my stay even though I articulated all the reasons why this room’s unacceptable, and I’d feel very uncomfortable: 1. No real window 2. No daylight 3. No fresh air 4. The room’s next to the reception with only a paper thin wall with the receptionist sitting right behind the headboard of the bed. Basically, you hear EVERYTHING, even the paper shuffling on the desk and typing on the keyboard. They must’ve converted a previous admin area into an additional room because the reception space is tiny. Ultimately, you have no privacy in this room because if you hear everything, anybody will hear everything what’s going on in your room. On top of all this you hear the fridge switching on and off all night, and the other guests checking in and out; walking by. Not sure if I got this room because I’ve been a solo traveller, a woman or came through Booking.com but it‘s been devastating to have been treated like this. It‘s unheard of. Even when I’ve asked to cancel my room to enable me to look somewhere else, the manager (or shift lead) told me in a very rude and harsh way that’s what I’ve booked and with a cancellation my money would be gone but I could simply leave if I’d wish. Imagine this! Hospitality? They’re not interested but ripping off the travelers. Ridiculously fact: she was constantly telling me how amazing their shower gel etc was once I told her that a hostel would’ve been a better choice. I don’t judge a hotel by its toiletries but the service, ambience, and rooms. I went for a long walk, and came back for a short sleep late since I couldn’t face staying in this room. Luckily that was only my last night in Venice due to a delayed flight. Fortunately that was the first and last time I’ve encountered such a terrible treatment in Venice.

This boutique hotel is on the main street in the Cannaregio district, a lively busy neighborhood. It was an easy but crowded walk from the train station (0.3mi) just past the first bridge North (note: all bridges have steps). I almost missed it as there is nothing but entrance door is between a restaurant and a store on the street level. The lobby is up a flight of stairs from the street - with all rooms on that floor or the floor above (no elevator). My room was nicely appointed in keeping with it’s historic building, but the room was very small. However, they have a nice living room reception area on the floor above the lobby (always open with snacks and coffee) that you can hang out in to use their free WiFi. They also have breakfast there in the morning. The bathroom has upscale toiletries and luxury towels, and I had a bottle of Prosecco on ice in the room when I arrived (a perk because I booked through the hotel website direct). The bathroom has a rainfall shower head and modern fixtures. Staff were very nice and helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations. The vaporetto (water bus) stop is a short walk from the hotel, but it is a mile if you walk. Also just over the Grand Canal (0.4mi) is a nice reasonably priced grocery store (Conrad City) and a Laundromat (Lavenderia Self Service). There are plenty of stores, restaurants, wine bars, cafe’s and bakeries within a block of the hotel. Breakfast was not included with my rate, but it was the best breakfast variety and quality of any of my stays. Worth the 8 euro extra, especially if you want protein (eggs, meat) and grilled vegetables and not just pastries. However, the pastries were good too. I will return here on my next visit.

After your reply I must reduce to one star. Your reply is full of lies. I would definitely give you 5 stars in fairy tales telling. Unimaginable.

My experience with this hotel was very unexpected. When we arrived at the hotel everything was completely dark. It seemed the municipality was doing maintenance on the street that day, we used the flashlight of our smartphone to find our way inside and talk with the team. The team told us that the problem should be fixed soon, they were all very nervous and even didn't appologize, they blamed fully the municipality. We left our luggage there in the complete darkness and asked if they could call us back when the problem was solved while we take a stroll in the city. Nobody called us while we were visiting the city.

We came back to the hotel around 5pm but the problem continued, we could not use the shower/toilets as we were explained that everything is based on pumps and electricity.

The team told us they did not know when the power would be back but we cannot change/cancel the hotel room and we were not offered any compensation, we waited longer in the room (without power), it was very frustrating, a vacation seemed to turn into a nightmare. After some time, around 6pm, the electricity was back, another time around 10pm there was again a short problem with the electricity for about 10 minutes. The money was fully paid, almost 400 euros for 2 rooms, but the problem with the electricity wasn't deducted and we were not offered any compensation or additional service for this very unpleasant event, that was not what I expected. Even not an appology, just blaming others. I can say that it was the worst experience with a hotel I have ever had, and of course one that costs about 200 euros per room per night. I will of course never come back, I was very happy to leave and not see the hotel or anyone from the team ever again. Also the rooms can be quite noisy, you hear everything what is going on in the reception if you get a room in the coridor in the...

I would give them 4 stars total. IF I DIDNT GET AN ACCIDENT !!! With the bad design The room is nice and clean,I slept good the bed was comfy,, I like the bathroom design,The staff were nice and helpful , they let me borrow their iron ,good breakfast ,nice ambiance..The staff offered an ice when he saw me fell down the stairs , it's so frustrating that the room (#54 )we got has 2 steps stairs right outside the door ,that you wouldn't notice or remember in the morning when you wake up there's no warning ,to beware or something to remind the guest to watch your steps when you open the door , It happened to me yesterday, when we are going to have breakfast ,my right foot fell in the bad position and broke my foot ,..(we travel a lot and we never have a hotel with 2 steps right outside the door when you get out ..My foot got swollen and ruined our supposed to be 3 days in Venice to see the beauty but because of that bad design we were not able to go anywhere ,I was stuck in another hotel we stayed ,wasted our plane ticket and time our days and who knows if I can fly in 2 days with my bad situation..I was so sad not to see the attraction specially the St Mark's Plaza the museum and other things..I just wish the staff of that hotel brings up my comment to fix it or just put sign at the door to remind the guest that there's 2 steps outside..so it won't happened again to anyone..my experienced is not so good..we wasted our 3 days in Venice that suppose to be a nice one..I've been looking forward for this trip, but because of that stairs outside the door ,I didn't enjoy at all .My husband is gonna take me to the hospital today and who knows how much our hospital bills. It's almost 24 hours now after my accident ,still swollen the ice pack helps a little bit but not really. I will go back there if they fix...
