Trattoria da Mimmo is a wonderful Italian restaurant located in a charming neighborhood, offering a delightful dining experience for anyone who loves Italian cuisine. Upon visiting the restaurant, I was immediately impressed by the friendly staff and the cozy and warm atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a musician playing a wind piano, adding to the lovely ambiance.
One thing that stood out to me during my visit was that most of the servings were for a couple, rather than for solo diners. This makes Trattoria da Mimmo an ideal destination for couples or small groups of friends, but not so much for solo diners. However, the serving size was generous, ensuring that we felt satisfied and well-fed.
While most of the food we ordered was delicious, we did find that the seafood pasta was a little bit salty. However, the creamy carbonara was absolutely delicious, and the desserts were heavenly. Overall, the food was of high quality and tasted fresh and authentic.
One small downside of the restaurant was that it can get a little crowded at peak hours in the evenings. However, this did not detract from the overall experience, and the staff remained friendly and attentive even during busy times.
In conclusion, Trattoria da Mimmo is a must-visit destination for anyone who loves Italian cuisine. The friendly staff, cozy ambience, and live music all make for a wonderful dining experience. While the seafood pasta was a little salty, the creamy carbonara and desserts more than made up for it. Just remember that the servings are for couples, and you will be sure to enjoy a delightful meal at this charming...
Read moreAfter a long hot day in the sun and a shower to follow, we were excited it was finally dinner time. I had seen great reviews about this place and we had passed it a few times on our walks throughout the city. The meal, service and ambiance did not disappoint. We ordered the mussels and fried calamari to share and they could have easily been our entire meal. The calamari was super fresh and came with two different dipping sauces. It wasn’t chewy at all and was really crispy. The mussels were out of this world. The plate was sky high, full of mussels waiting to be enjoyed. The sauce they were in not only went incredibly well with the mussels but because a dipping bowl for our bread there after. Next were our meals. We wanted to go with something a bit more traditional so we went with the carbonara. Not only was the dish big enough for two people, but it was so so good. The flavors were out of this world and the homemade pasta was cooked to perfection. Who I believe was the owner, did a fantastic job checking up on us to make sure our experience was one to remember. Highly recommend stopping in for a meal here, as they’ll treat you...
Read moreWe chose this place based on the 4.5 rating. I’m baffled as to how they managed to score so well based on our experience. The staff are sweet, but that carbonara… gosh don’t know where to start! A giant portion (can’t complain but probably overkill) of cheap, very thin spaghetti, mildly overcooked, floating in a nondescript watery sauce of very loose cream and some egg. Bits of cooked ham rather than crispy bacon lardons. Probably the most yuk carbonara I’ve ever eaten. It was expensive at 15.50 euro for one dish only where most nearby restaurants offered a three meal course for 18 euros or so as part of a tourist menu. The pasta we had was well below “tourist menu” level. Ambiance wise - zero atmosphere. Only us dining and another table. And it was peak lunchtime on a Friday. Sorry to be harsh guys but you need to earn your rep and step up your game if you want to remain competitive in a city...
