This is a smaller boutique hotel located about a 20 to 25 minute walk from the Tronchetto station. If you have luggage, I highly recommend walking across the bridge to the Piazzale Roma and finding a luggage porter. It should cost you around €40 for two people. Well worth it because there are two large areas with stairs.
As for the hotel itself, we were located on the top floor so luckily the Porter carried our bags all the way up there. There are no elevators.
The room was very clean and the air conditioner worked well. That's the only good I can say about the room.
If you are only there for a night or two, it's tolerable but those beds are like rocks. The blankets are also scratchy.
The bathroom has absolutely nowhere to put toiletry items. They have a small plastic low to the ground table but I use that for my toiletries in the shower. There are no shelves in the shower at all. Nowhere to put soap even. And be sure to bring all your own toiletry items.
As for the public spaces, there are two outside patio areas and they are very nice. There's also no noise to disturb your sleep at least from where we were sleeping.
You do have to pay some type of tax in Euro so be sure you have Euro for that. If I recall, it was 15 euro per person for two nights.
We rarely saw the desk staff. They were there when we checked in but they were not there when we checked out so I just left the euro on the table.
There is no coffee maker in the room and we didn't get the breakfast plan but I didn't even see coffee around there. We ended up getting it right downstairs when you walk out. There's a little restaurant right there.
I do like the location of the hotel because it's away from all the mass amounts of crowds. That being said, it might be easier to stay near San Marco so you can just take a water taxi straight to your hotel instead of walking and using a porter. There was a way to take a water taxi that would drop you off somewhere close to the hotel, from what I heard, but we just didn't know where to get it. EDIT- In response to management, your site lists nothing about what you mentioned. locandacasamartini and it is...
Read moreBefore booking with them we called and asked if we would be able to arrive and leave our bags before there where someone on the reception (8:30am) AND THEY SAID YES!! Once we arrived the door code to get inside didn’t worked, it wasn’t making any noise so it was clearly not working. We called them for help only to be treated extremely badly by the employee, treating us as we were stupid: we explained that it wasn’t working and there were no “buttons noise” when we pressed the code and we explained that they told us we could arrive that time and he said that we don’t know how to press buttons, that we don’t know how to read an email and proceeded to hang up on us the three times we called them during the 2 hours we were left on the streets. If he wasn’t going to help why even bother to answer!!! The rudest and lack of empathy and help from this employee really ruined the begging of our trip. The employee that fixed the door first said to us, when he put the code and didn’t open, that is was without energy, but after he unlocked the door from the inside he blamed on someone else that probably pushed the door and it automatically locked. What makes the system a little unreliable and probably wasn’t the first time this happened as the door has a lot of signs saying not to touch it, so later that day when we were going back at night we were very stressed by the idea of not being able to get inside again, specially because we don’t have the guaranty that they would help us if we can’t get inside. Also, they photocopy our credit card, we had to ask and explain a lot why we didn’t wanted him to photocopy the CCV number. Things to know: the luggage storage it’s the hallway, there’s no elevator or mini bar, we only had a small window on our room that gave to the underwear railing of someone else, they charge 7 euros for the change of towels. By the price we payed, you can find another one with a better service and same...
Read moreWe arrived late morning and met with a warm welcome and to be told our rooms were ready. We’d been up since 2am so this was good news. We all went off to unpack. Didn’t take us long as the wardrobe was very slim so clothes had to be hung on pegs inside the wardrobe (on hangers). There were no drawers so most of our clothes remained in the suitcase, which actually wasn’t a problem. The Hotel was quirky, I really liked it. We were a party of 3 couples and were all located on the same floor. There was a fridge in the corridor on our floor (also the one above) which we were advised we could use if we liked….we did, very useful. We didn’t have breakfast in the Hotel, it is ideally located with lots of restaurants nearby. There was an outdoor terrace where we took our own drinks and an area on floor above where we played cards in the evening. There was a plug in mosquito repellant in our room which we used. The Hotel is situated near where the water taxis drop off and it was a short walk to the train station.|Didn’t see many Staff but the one's we did encounter were very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Thank you for making our...
