Travelers, please do not book this B&Bl based on the positive reviews and nice pictures on trip advisor. I previously stayed at this B&B in March 2016, I loved it so much that I booked it again in May 2017. From the very beginning, the experience was HORRIBLE this go around. The B&B is under new management/ownership, but did not change the name so they're able to maintain the ratings of the previous owners. Where do I begin:||||1. Late check-in (after 2200): I emailed (what I thought to be was the owners I interacted with last year) to let them know that we would be late. I received an email back, saying no problem. I arrived in Italy at 2100 and I received an alarming phone call, not sure if it was my bad Italian or the gentleman's limited English, but he eluded that if we did not hurry up, we would not be able to check-in--he was sleepy.||||2. Room: The Room was horrible! Filled with mold and chipped paint due to water damage (please see the photos). When I comforted the "new manager" about the horrible condition of the room, he informed me that the room had water damage--which was very visible. I asked why would they put someone that room? I asked for a refund because I was told that all of the rooms were booked, but they magically found a new room (mind you, there are only 5 rooms in the entire building). ||||Note, the bathroom is not located in the room, which I fully understood when booking because I stayed at the property last year. However, we were expected to share a TINY bathroom with 2 other rooms and there was not ventilation/circulation/windows in the bathroom. It was very damp and unpleasant in there. ||||Hotel Decor/Building: The decor is not what you see in the pictures. THIS B&B IS NOT A BOUTIQUE B&B. The previous owners took all of their luxurious decorations, linens, soaps, towels, slippers, and alcohol with them. The walls were bare and the nails were still in the walls where the old pictures and decorations previously hung. Nothing about the new decor (or lack thereof) screams 5-star or even 2-star...
Read moreI was seriously worried about this hotel before arrival. I had prepaid one night on hotels.com based on the 'fabulous' reviews, only to work out the hotel had changed hands and was now garnering terrible reviews. hotels.com would not allow me to change the booking, despite the decor, fit out and management differing from what was listed and paid for.||||I was reluctant to loose money,so we proceeded with our 2 room, 1 night visit.||||The location is excellent - just two minutes from piazza bra, the arena and the airport buses. There are many local bakeries/ cafes, so we did not pay extra for breakfast. Previous reviews had put us off.||||We were greeted by a perfectly pleasant woman who checked us in without fuss. Other reviews mention unfriendly staff, but I think she just was not fluent in English and struggled beyond the basics.||||Both our bedrooms (mirrors and horses) were large, had air con and modern but basic furniture. There were clear signs that the once boutique decor had been stripped away by previous management, but the decor was fine. We were given towels and this was very clean, as was the bedding.||||The biggest problem was the shared bathroom (which we knew on booking). I think it was one tiny bathroom between at least 3 rooms. Thanks to the consideration of other guests, the room was clean. Hot water in the shower was non existent the first night, slow to arrive the next morning.||||Would I stay here again - it depends on the price. We had a bargain, very central stay and we were happy to accept the shared bathroom in exchange for a €55 room. If I paid much more, I probably would be less happy.||||Fortunately for us, we did not experience the horrors of unclean bathrooms, unfriendly hosts and dirty rooms. I recommend booking if a central location is important and the...
Read moreThe B&B gets many great reviews. It probably deserves them. ||||At the same time, a couple of things need to be considered by those looking to stay. First, we were on the top floor (four up, counting from the ground floor). It is quite a hike up for those who are not so young or fit. Second, the room we had did not have an attached bathroom. We did know that this was a possibility when we booked, but we did find visiting the bathroom required passing another room and we found it tiresome to be very quiet and to dress for each visit to the bathroom. ||||If we stayed again, we'd request a room with attached bath in advance.||||The room was fine, being quite large, very well air-conditioned and very clean. WiFi was good and the available cable TV was excellent.||||Breakfast was sufficient but pretty much the same each day. It was hot when we were in Verona, and we felt the 9 a.m. start for breakfast was a bit late, especially when some of the sites tourists want to visit are open at 8.30.||||The people at the B&B were helpful and friendly. However, no one is about after about noon. For us, this created a problem one day when we found ourselves locked inside the B&B. We had not been told how to get out and it was by no means clear at the complicated lock. As it turned out, the lock was fixed the next day, and we found ourselves locked in again, not knowing of the changes. We resolved such problems by phoning the manager, but would have been stuck if we didn't have a phone. Later a new sign appeared near the door. Great idea!||||The B&B is well located and easy to find when arriving. Close to the Arena, it is a great location for...
