Hubby found this place and it's super close to our hotel, so we walked over and waited in line. We came at 7:09 pm and got seated at 7:24 pm on a Wednesday. The restaurant is tiny with 8 seats, and 4 guests can wait inside at a time. It seems to be run by a couple.
We were given a small cup of iced water after sitting down. Our miso curry milk ramen came at 7:29pm. The soup was delicious and the taste of curry wasn't overwhelming. There's one piece of meat, several bamboo shoots, wakame, and bean sprouts in the soup. The noodles were nice and chewy. The soup tastes a bit heavy in the end for someone who usually orders shio ramen like me though😅!
We finished around 7:39 pm and It's 950 yen per bowl (tax included). I saw they also sell half or one bowl of rice. I didn't see anyone commenting on it, but I almost ordered some rice to go with my leftover soup since I was curious 🤨.
Ps. The line might be intimidating but people eat quite fast in Japan so it wasn't as bad as it seems. They take...
Read moreMy first really, really good ramen in Aomori city. Worth the 1/2 hr wait from 1:20pm for a late lunch. Passed by twice yesterday, there was always a line of people waiting. I had the Curry butter shio ramen, well worth the 900yen. As you may have noticed from other reviews, the prices have gone up since Covid, but hey, the prices of everything has gone up from Covid, everywhere in the world. This is still way, way cheaper in the U.S. where we pay $12-18 per order of ramen everywhere. (1700-2500yen, currently) See my picture of current menu and prices as of Sept 24, 2022. It looks like a mom and pop run establishment, as I only saw 2 of them there and in other pictures posted. Don't ski this place while you are in Aomori city, you won't regret it. I am currently thinking of going back tomorrow if time allows, but definitely going back on my...
Read moreate here 3 weeks ago while i was on vacation travelling by train to northern japan. I just happened to see this on google maps, and when I showed up there was 2 other japanese customers in line. I struck up a conversation with them in the intermediate japanese i knew. They were more suprised to see a tourist in this part of Japan during May and they were more suprised I came to this shop by chance. It's apparently pretty famous in Aomori, and the milk curry miso ramen is the one you need to eat. I ate alot of ramen in different regions of Japan but this was...
