The sushi and sashimi were very fresh and delicious, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it was all just a bit too engineered for the tourist market. It feels like exactly like the place that has hit top spot on Trip Advisor... they are making it really easy by providing a really limited menu. There were certainly lots of foreigners there when we went it.
I discovered that I don't like kazunoko (herring roe) which is a delicacy in Japan, but to me it had something of a strange crunchy texture and taste. It's in all of the sushi sets, so there wasn't any escaping it.
The uni (sea urchin) here is the best I've ever had.
I would recommend it to a friend, but wish I'd had time to ask around for some more local...

We got one set meal, one cucumber roll and additional botan ebi sashimi. We wanted miso soup but they didn’t have it.
VERY VERY VERY disappointed by how much wasabi the chef put on the sushi. My scallop sushi and ebi sushi were completely ruined because of the amount of wasabi. I am not new to sushi at all and I’ve eaten it many, many times.
This was not pleasant because I teared up from the wasabi. Had to struggle to swallow. The 3/5 rating is for the freshness but I honestly don’t know why there was such an overwhelming amount of wasabi.

I didn't realize until after I ordered but the English menu they give you is very very limited compared to the Japanese menu and I was disappointed by the options. I didn't realize until I saw people around me getting items that weren't on my menu.
