The hotel is small and serves as a budget and business hotel, making it perfect for our short stay in Atami. The check-in process was a bit convoluted as the staff helps you navigate the digital system. It might be easier and faster if guests did it themselves instead of having staff looking over your shoulder and trying to help every few seconds.
🛏️ Rooms and Communication The rooms are small but well-designed. It's clear a lot of thought went into the layout. I particularly liked the TV feature that allows you to see and interact with many aspects of the hotel, such as checking the availability of laundry machines and monitoring your laundry's progress. There are no phones in the rooms; they are instead located near the elevators. While this was fine for us, I know some people might find it inconvenient.
🚿 Bathroom and Amenities The bathroom was nice and came with lots of amenities, although you need to pick them up yourself on the first floor. The station for amenities is conveniently located across from the elevator, which worked fine for us. Water bottles are available on the first floor at the front desk, not in the rooms.
🍽️ Breakfast The breakfast was interesting and is included with your stay, which is always a nice bonus. However, it's much more traditionally Japanese, so don't expect an omelette or scrambled eggs.
🧺 Laundry Laundry facilities are on the second floor and cost between 100 - 500 yen, depending on the service. While the machines work well, there are only three, so it can feel like a bit of a battle to get access.
👍 Overall Overall, our stay was nice, and the price made it worth it. It's a good choice for a short stay, but if you're coming with your family, look elsewhere as it isn't that...
Read moreWe had a great stay at Prince Smart Atami Inn.
Location: Great location. Very close to the Atami station (walking distance) and very easy to locate if arriving by car
Parking: Please do not park at the Times parking, which is in one side of the hotel. The actual parking lot for the hotel is on the other side of the building with their logo at the front. If unsure, please ask the staffs members. They were very willing to direct us to the right spot. Parking does close at 10pm as it is a car stacking system and the concierge is only there till 10pm. It does cost 1000yen, but cheaper than surrounding carparks.
Staffs: Friendly and polite. Easy check in via the machine, staff is there to help if needed. We were also given 2 bottles of water upon arrival.
Common area: Huge and modern. Presented in a cleanly matter
Room: It's very spacious and clean. There's plenty spaces to hang clothes and you can easily open 2 large luggages in the room. Bed is very comfy and it comes with a smart TV. TV also shows other information about the hotel, including real time washing machine availability and washing time. Which makes it easy for guest to know, rather than going back and forth from room.
Bathroom: was clean and has a bath tub. Free toiletries and pyjamas are provided for free at the ground floor.
Breakfast: was simple, but good enough for the price we paid.
Facilities: There's microwave at the second floor, ironing area, venting machine and washing machine available. You can also store your luggages for free at first floor.
The only downside is there's no kettle in the room. However, safety locker, slippers and fridge are...
Read moreVery convenient with access to the Atami train line, but beware you're at the top of the hill with a steep grade down to the shopping street, restaurants and beach.
The hotel; the two gentlemen who are usually working lack customer service and are not very approachable. They do their job, just not with any hint of satisfaction.. When asking about parking the car the representative was visibly frustrated that I was parking and acted very short with me. The hotel also needs to work on a new policy to hold guest's luggage if they arrive early for check-in, not having a policy like this is just silly, the size of their lobby is massive and could accommodate those requests. The room we had was very spacious and very clean with a view of the train station and hillside. There aren't any restaurants immediately nearby, but a short walk to the train station presents those options. If you're keen on renting a car there is a car rental office right across the street, but just remember that the hotel only provides paid parking and has certain hours when you can't access your vehicle because it is on a lift system. Pretty good value for the price, but service needs an...
