Hakata Yakiniku Tenjin — Restaurant in Chatan

We were initially tempted by the 90-minute all-you-can-eat buffet for ¥8,000, but decided against it due to our smaller appetites. Instead, we opted for the lunch sets, as it was lunchtime.

Here are our orders, ranked in order of preference:

Okinawa Motobu Beef ¥5,900 Tenjin Set ¥3,400 x2 Steak Set ¥2,200

We absolutely loved the Okinawa Motobu Beef! It was one of the recommended items from the à la carte menu. The Tenjin set, which was the top item on the set menu, was also excellent. The Steak set was decent, but nothing extraordinary. I think you can gauge the quality of the food by the price; the price truly reflects the taste.

The service was very friendly, and we were even given a private room for our group of three. There were hangers available on the wall for us to hang our jackets, which was a thoughtful touch given the cold...

It's scam. All the five-star reviews are because the restaurant offers a 5% discount. I chose the high-end black-haired Wagyu BBQ course, priced close to 10,000 yen per person, but 30% of the black-haired Wagyu was low-grade meat with large tendons. Such cuts are usually not offered in regular BBQ or shabu-shabu restaurants (such as One Karubi, Domestic Beef BBQ Buffet, Nobezo, Gyukaku, On-yasai, and Misaka), as they are considered trash-grade. Another 30% had a small amount of tendons—edible but not tasty. The remaining 30% was just ordinary meat. This restaurant does not offer delicious cuts like sirloin, ribeye, or short ribs, only cheap belly and tenderloin cuts. It is all a scam, no value meal, and cannot be compared to the quality of the aforementioned well-known all-you-can-eat Japanese...

We opted for the all-you-can-eat special course for 9.500¥. We ordered mostly from special menu to make our moneys worth. The beef is indeed very tender and melt in your mouth.

They do have the rule that they might reduce the amount of your order if you order too much which happened a lot with us. When ordering 4 plates of the same beef they’ll only give you 1 plate that might have only 2 portions on it.

Also you’ll only have 60mins to order but 90mins to sit and eat.

We didn’t make a reservation and got a table immediately. We did come at 17:00 directly when they opened though.
