I've heard mixed word-of-mouth reviews about this Okinawa-based Red Lobster, mostly negative, and I decided to give it a try and find out for myself. First of all, if you're looking for true American style cuisine, you probably shouldn't even be traveling abroad. Menus and dishes will always be influenced by majority local culture, regardless if it's an American-owned chain. It was slightly disappointing to find out that yes, they do indeed charge for the famous Red Lobster cheese biscuits, but unless that's the sole reason you go there then it's not a huge deal. The food was pretty high quality and they have some unique drink options, even a whole section of non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails. Prices are close to what you'd expect at a Red Lobster. Fair warning: if you go for the crab legs, get the 500g instead of the 250g. 250g is like a side dish and you only get like 4 or 5 legs. The interior is nice, mainstream comfortable, but the music is pretty hit or miss with a heavy mix of American genres - you'll hear songs you love as well as songs you despise. Overall I think it's worth going to and many negative reviews are possibly a little too critical. It's a chain restaurant, of course they accept...
Read moreThe price is a bit high like I paid ¥2500ish for just a plate without any salad, bread, or soup, but then again, you'll have to pay slightly more in here compared to United States. Food tastes really good, except there was a little too much of the mayo taste on the lobster, but otherwise, we really enjoyed it. The restaurant inside is very nice. You can choose the table inside or the balcony. There is no AC in the balcony so Inside is great for the hot days and nights. The biggest Orion beer was a little over ¥1000. It's better to get the big size, because it's ¥740 for the mid size and small is ¥400. The waiter and waitress are friendly and everyone were smiling, but very professional and I can tell the main guy (maybe the manager?) seemed like he can understand English and was thinking about us patiently when we were trying to decide on which table to pick. It was our 16th anniversary, and we both had a fun meal time. It seems family friendly as well. I saw many children and babies, but good for the date...
Read moreBeautiful dinning is about all you will get. We waited 30 minute in a nearly empty place, for seemingly no reason. The food was unfortunately the worst I've ever eaten in my life. I'm fairly certain everything is precooked, frozen then warmed, which is the only reason there is to explain the cost of fresh lobster at 20,000 yen compared to the 3,000 yen half lobster. Probably because they're hoping no one asks for it because they don't no how to cook fresh. The biscuits were very good and the only thing I could stomach. The lobster was little bigger then a prawn and tasted like so so shrimp, the steak took more chewing then my jaw could take, which my daughter tried and had to spit out because it was so chewy. The chicken wings were under cooked and tasted like there was a coating of sand and crashed bbq chip powder. And all for the low price of 26,000 yen. Don't waste your time you could get a better meal at any other place at American Village for a fraction...
