Firstly, I would point out that this hotel is in fact called Hotel Saika, not Hotel Ayaka. They have used kanji in a confusing way when they named it.||||This is a lovely hotel very close to all the stations in the area, as well as a lot of shops and restaurants. We stayed in a 4 bed room, which is difficult to find in Japan. The room was fairly small but modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and kind, and even helped me do some laundry. They do not serve breakfasts but they bake croissants and pastries in the office and bring them out to the lobby at 8.30am in the morning, which was a treat (they are free!). There is also a useful free coffee machine and an internet-connected computer in the lobby. ||||There is a 24 hour Lawson shop diagonally opposite the road. The beach is 5 min walk away, across the road (via an underpass). Beware of the numerous Tobi (Black Kites) which will snatch food from your hands - this happened to us! Enoshima is a 10 min walk across the bridge. ||||It's a small, quiet, family run hotel with outstandingly helpful staff. Thoroughly...
Read moreThe location is golden. Near fantastic local restaurants, train stations, beaches and Enoshima. The rooms are small, but big enough for a small family if you get the double room with an extra futon. The bathroom is clean and relatively modern. I was worried about the wooden blinds at first, but they surprisingly let in gentle light in the morning. As usual, the TV is bad because it's not a smart TV, only Japanese TV channels, no escape from that. I heard the staff were super kind and friendly, but I would have to say that they were average. I recommend not getting the meal coupons to use at their associated restaurant, because that restaurant is not so good (maybe good for lunch), and there are much better local restaurants around. It's disappointing that the discount for not getting the meal coupons is not equal to the meal coupon value. Overall, a great place to get away from Tokyo for a...
Read moreWE LOVE YOU NAGANO-SAN!
We had the most wonderful, magical time staying at Hotel Saika in Katasekaigan, Fujisawa~! ✨
As two Malaysian ladies traveling in Japan, our hearts were so touched by the warm and kind hospitality here. It felt like a cozy little treasure by the sea~ 🐚💕
After a full day exploring Kamakura, we arrived quite late and were so happy to see Nagano-san smiling warmly at us! Even though we couldn’t speak the same language very well, he patiently helped us with such kindness and care. It really made us feel safe and so happy~ 🌸🌸
The room was spotless, peaceful, and full of charm. It wasn’t modern, but we loved it just like a gentle scene from a slice-of-life anime. The soft bed, tiny table, relaxing bathtub, fluffy pillows, TV, and the cute yukata — everything was just perfect to calm our tired hearts~ ☁️✨
Breakfast was simple — just bread, jam, and drinks — but perfect for me as a Muslim guest. If you want more, a convenience store nearby is like a little treasure chest where I found my “breakfast bomb”! 🍞💥
The hotel doesn’t have laundry service, but Nagano-san was so sweet to call around and find the nearest laundromat for us, even drawing a helpful little map by hand! Such thoughtful care made us feel like we had a kind guardian angel here~ 🗺️💫
When we checked out, we noticed we were the only non-Japanese guests — but we never once felt out of place. Instead, this was the most peaceful, warm, and comfortable stay during our whole 10-day adventure in Japan.
We will absolutely come back again someday! Thank you so much, Hotel Saika, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts, dear Nagano-san!...
