紀伊国屋食堂 — Restaurant in Fujisawa

My god. Since comin to Japan I have been eating sashimi or sushi, even though I probably should not, at least once every second day. Be it from a supermarket, restaurant or wherever else you can buy sashimi. So when I say that this was the best sashimi I have had, that is one of the greatest compliments I can give. The rest of the set meal was really good too, but for me it was overshadowed by the fish. A good simple restaurant to eat some tenpura and sashimi, while not forgetting whitebait. Volume wise, it's awesome. In terms of quality, well, it's average. The tenpura is a little oily and not so crisp. The 1,500 yen meal is great money for value. The only disappointing thing about this restaurant is a lack of a kid's menu. If they had something for kids, then I would recommend it for families. Something like curry and rice, or fried rice, would have been awesome. While on the street, we noticed a local Japanese with a fishing rod queuing up at this restaurant. I thought, "This place must have incredibly fresh ingredients!" It turns out my decision was spot on. As soon as we started dining, the restaurant quickly filled up, predominantly with locals.

Ordering through iPads was convenient, and the ingredients were exceptionally fresh, with very reasonable prices. We ordered two bowls of seafood rice ,some sashimi, and drinks, and it only cost us a total of 70 CAD. Such pricing is unbelievable for us...
