Was looking for a low budget getaway for the weekend close to Tokyo where we can go without a car for a party of 6 ranging from a 4 year old girl and 84 year old grandpa, and found this conveniently located gem! It is NOT located on the Enoshima Island itself, but rather closer to all the railroad stations such as Odakyu Katase-enoshima (which is the last stop on the Odakyu Enoshima Line) and Enoshima Station on Enoden which takes you to Kamakura, and Shonan Enoshima station, which is the last stop on the Shonan Monorail which connects you conveniently to Ofuna Station on JR lines. For less then 1 man yen (approximately $US90 per person) it includes breakfast and dinner, which I thought it was a bargain, however you will not have your own bathroom, instead it is shared bathroom and public bath, but you can pay a fee to use a private bath for your party. Also, please keep in mind that Enoshima itself does not have an Onsen (natural hot spring) so it is just regular hot water to begin with. ||However, there is plenty to do here for 2 days on the Enoshima Island itself such as checking out the unique shops along Benzaiten Nakamise Street, Enoshima Shrines, going up to the Sea Candle for the views (and if you are lucky you can see Mt. Fuij from here), Enoshima Daishi, Iwaya Cave or going to the Enoshima Aquarium. Or could be a great place to stay if you want to go to Kamakura from here. ||If you want to try a typical old-fashioned Japanese style ryokan without breaking your...
Read moreWe ordered the dinner, breakfast, and hotel package. Let me summarize our experiences:
Food: Dinner and breakfast were both amazing. You can decide the time for your meals and they will serve it to you at the specific time. Seafoods were fresh and well cooked. They are also very generous in their portion.
Room: We stayed in 3-6 persons room and its more like an apartment with a living room, 1 main room (can sleep 3 people), 2 small rooms (fit 1 people in each room). Wifi was weak but we didn’t really use it so it was ok. Soundproofing was bad so we can hear other people’s noises in the morning but it was tolerable.
Overall: Its a really good experience and...
Read moreA great little Ryokan with old charm and VERY conveniently located to Enoshima island, beaches, and many restaurants in the area. All of the staff were very kind and friendly. Yes, it's old and could use some repairs and upgrades, but I've stayed in much worse. Bathrooms and toilets are separate from the room, which is common. The bath areas were very clean. A very delicious and traditional Japanese breakfast was included in the price. If you're driving, parking is only available after 1600. No early parking. Also, finding the parking area was a challenge because of the narrow, one-way roads. I'd like to stay here again, but next time I'll...
