Hotel de Machi — Hotel in Fujiyoshida

Nice small hotel, also know as 街のホテル or Hotel de Machi, with all the basic facilities that you will need for your stay in Fujiyoshida. And this hotel offers an excellent view towards Mt. Fuji. I had a great time when I stayed there, waiting for the right moment for an Off Season Bullet Climb of Fujisan. The room was clean and there were clean towels and complimentary water, tea and coffee supplied every day.

The bathroom seemed to have been renovated not too long ago. The toilet was the hi-tech Japanese style and the shower had excellent water pressure.

While the hotel doesn’t offer any breakfast, there are several konbini (convenience stores) nearby plus plenty of restaurants and a bakery is not too far, either. The room has a fridge and kettle. Wifi is fast and stable. Be prepared that the bed is Japanese style. So you’ll sleep on a mattress on the floor and not in a Western style bed. I got some very restful and energizing sleep there.

The owner/staff takes good care and is very helpful. At the reception there is a microwave that you can use to heat up food from the konbini. Very good communication prior to my arrival. The owner also waited for me after the official check-in time was my bus to Fujiyoshida was delayed.

A nice plus is that there are rental bicycles (with locks) available for free - however, unfortunately only pretty small frame sizes. These make it easy to get to locations in Fujiyoshida that are a little bit further away or to explore the...

The room was not cleaned properly and the duvet felt damp and not washed. There is no lift and a lot of steps. The hall area is very dirty. The room where you leave your shoes wasn't swept. The toilets were clean. The air conditioning didn't work properly and was very loud. The room was very cold and damp. I was sleeping in my jumper and socks and was still cold. We left first thing in the morning to another hotel nearby and we asked for refund as we were booked in for 3 nights but were not refunded for the remaining two...

Friendly and welcoming staff. Room and bathroom is clean. Futtons, blankets and pillows are clean and doesn’t smell. Room size is very spacious. Many essentials are provided. Green tea and premium coffee packs are provided. Skincare and shower sample are self take at the counter. The only dislike is have to climb some stairs to the room. Location is very peaceful, not lively and with not much tourists. F&b opens early and closes early. In the evening, it’s a ghost town. Overall very pleasant 2...
