Harukiya Coffee Roastery — Restaurant in Fujiyoshida

A quaint little coffee place with decent roasts. We popped by at 430pm and it had started to drizzle, so the warm coffee was just what we needed.

We had a Kenya and Brazil roast with some coffee jelly and pound cake. Our son had a banana muffin and specialty chocolate drink.

The Kenyan blend was fruitier, and light on the palette... the Brazilian one was stronger and fuller flavoured with hints of cocoa...much better (IMHO). Coffee jelly was balanced and the pound cake was thick and sweet enough to complement the bitter coffee. Our son loved his chocolate drink, but not so much the muffin which seem to be less than fluffy and almost as dense as my pound cake.

Still it was an awesome experience and we even a bag of the Brazilian...

I recently visited a charming café and had the pleasure of trying two distinct coffees: La Cupula and Finca Hartmann.

La Cupula stood out with its bright acidity and floral, fruity aroma, offering a sweet and vibrant profile.

In contrast, Finca Hartmann was a smooth, savory delight with subtle earthy notes and almost no acidity, making it incredibly easy on the palate.

As someone who’s sensitive to caffeine, I was thrilled that this place didn’t give me the usual headache—just a perfectly balanced cup of coffee.

The service was warm, and the interior exuded a cozy, inviting vibe. Needless to say, I couldn’t resist bringing some beans home....
