Smile Hotel - Hakata Ekimae — Hotel in Fukuoka

The fifth stop of our trip to Kitakyushu, Japan, was Smile Hotel Hakataekimae. The hotel is about 400 meters away from Hakata JR station and subway station. It is very close. The location is good and it is convenient to travel. There are convenience stores such as FamilyMart, Lawson and Seven-Eleven downstairs.This hotel called Smile has the same room layout and design as the comfortable hotel in Kokura. Even the room area is a little smaller than that in Kokura. There is no shelf to put the boxes (in fact, it can't be placed at all). The service can only be regarded as average. Good, the room is so compact that it really makes people smile. The room we stayed in was actually a typical Japanese single-person business trip hotel in the past. The area may be less than 10 square meters. The original single bed was replaced with a 1.4-meter-wide small double bed and placed against the wall to create a double room. It was very inconvenient to get in and out of bed. There was almost no walking space in the room and it was overcrowded. Stayed 1N in the cheapest double room during my last day in Fukuoka due to lack of room availability in my previous hotel around the same area. It was expensive as S$240+ for a Saturday (but no choice is Hakata area is fully booked).||||Overall the hotel is average and it suits students on a graduation trip and wished to save some money, or travelers with a pretty packed itinerary and just want a place to shower and rest a bit after a very long day out.||||While the hotel website looked cheesy and seemed to portray the hotel as kind of shoddy, but is quite fine actually. ||||Likes:||- Is walking distance from Hakata station||- Kindly and helpful staffs who speak very good english||- Is wallet friendly||||Dislikes:||- I got a couple of bug bites while seated on the bed wearing the hotel bath robe. I liked the location, staff, most of the bedsIt's narrow like other reviews. The bathroom is narrow, and the bed and desk door are also narrow.Two people used it for three days, and when the two of them unfolded the carrier together, all empty places disappeared.I liked the cleaning of bedding, towels and trash after going outI used room 204, but the window looked at the wall, so the sun didn't shine in the morning, so it wasn't bright in the morning.
