I cannot comment on the service as we only interacted with 1 staff on check in. We did not see any other staff or cleaning crew for our entire stay, haha, very peaceful indeed. The good - they remembered we are a family of 3 and provided the extra towels and tooth brush in the room, all ready and waiting for us. This is the first time a hotel has done so for us in our many visits to Japan! fresh towels provided daily, amenities restocked daily, two bottles of water daily. sheet change upon requests, spacious room enough to open 3 luggage on the floor (Chapter 4) huge bath tub and very nice smelling soaps (co bigelow) we enjoyed it very much. The shower was hot with strong water flow, and super enjoyable. The sofa and table was very useful, the leather chair was very comfortable. The bad - no vending machine on site like other Japanese hotels. But family mart is a short walk outside the hotel. The family mart was not as well stocked as others! There is No nearby bus stop. nearest train station gate (chikushi exit) below miyaki hotel. It is more than a 5min walk away, we felt it crossed into a “little too far” when we were feeling tired after a long day out, or in the summer heat and rain. Walk a little further by crossing a street, you will come to hakata central station with the Shinkansen and metro lines, and the bus terminal which is enough to get you to all the sights. there is no usb plugs in the hotel room. Only the Japanese pin plugs. The plugs seem to have a bit of power issue so we couldn’t charge multiple devices at the same time. There are only 3 plug points accessible to a flat surface that we can use to place our devices to charge. Two above the bed headboard and 1 on the centre island. The rest are along the wall or installed in a narrow space that cannot fit any plugs -_- The pillow was super flat. Might as well do without it. Taxi from international airport to this hotel cost us about 1400 yen. We booked via GO app to and from hotel to airport. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the room was very comfortable and clean, aircon super cold, shower super hot. We...
Read moreDo not expect any service, only the basics. Early check-in can be requested, upon availability and at a charge. No porter or bell boy around. Room amenities lack body lotion and shower cap. No iron and ironing board in the room. Not enough hangers provided and there is only a photo- ledge looking thing to hang up your clothing. Not enough hanging space, with 2 jackets hung, the mirror would be obstructed. Body towels are tiny. Only 2 bottles of water provided, you have to request for more if needed. Pillows were very soft and flat. Toilet is dim, alittle challenging for ladies to don their makeup. No hanging hooks in the toilet. Dust is visible on he ledges, sofa seat was stained, toilet grouting is yellow. Coffee machine in the room wasn't working well, I have to stand by it and place a hand on it for it to work and there an odd cable sticking out of it. Bedside table has a charging port, but it's poorly designed with the top abstructing adaptors, it's probably just meant for Japanese plugs. No USB charging ports available, do remember to bring your own adaptors. First room we were checked into has a strong vomit odor. We went down to front desk to report and ask for change of rooms. No other service was attempted, it was dealt with like it was not a biggie - we paid for early check-in and informed hotel we were arriving on a red eye flight. They don't seem keen to offer an apology. We exhausted from our flight and yet we had to manage our luggage transfer from the smelly room to the other, no offer of assistance. Though walkable from Hakata station, it would be an effort. Taxi from the airport is just under 1800yen, trunk can fit 2 large and 1 cabin size luggage. There's a laundromat just behind the hotel, exit hotel and take 2 lefts. I don't feel any "warmth" at this hotel. I will not return for the fact that there are more hotel options to choose from at their...
Read moreHotel wasn't too far away from the Chikushi exit of the Hakata station (say 5-7 mins even with luggage). Lighting is a bit dim when you go in but has good ambience (and it smells nice)! There is also a family mart right next to it for some snacks and drinks if you arrive late and want something small (or quick breakfast).
Our room wasn't big but was enough for 2 people - along with tv, small fridge, coat hangers + clothes/air freshener, safe, shoehorn, cups bottles of water, tea and even 2 sets of PJs. They also leave thank you cards each time they clean - ones that you can take to the front desk to exchange for small snacks/mints. (I think there was humidifier but wasn't 100% what is was because we didn't use it).
Bathroom also wasn't big but had everything we needed - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothbrush + toothpaste, combs, razor + shaving cream, cotton pads, cups, towels and even bath salts! Toilet was the expected Japanese toilet :) Quick tip here for travelers - I washed some small personal items and left them to dry in the bathroom overnight and they were dry the next morning.
Laundry service is available, but we were able to find one 5 mins down the road for cheaper - turning left after exiting the hotel. Coin laundry was called BeFresh (I think?) was around 600-800 yen in total for both of us. We were done wash+dry within an hour. They have a coin exchange machine onsite the laundromat and machines (washers and dryers) were easy to use (you can also just Google translate as needed). There is also a CCTV if that makes you feel safer.
The hotel restaurant breakfast wasn't worth the $ for us, but there are PLENTY of food options nearby.
Overall great hotel - decor, service, cleanliness and value (we paid ~185 CAD per night and stayed from Jan 1 - Jan 5) were 5 stars (room size at 4 stars, but nothing unexpected). 10/10 would return if...
