If you are looking for and open to a traditional Ryokan Japanese Inn experience, I can definitely recommend this place. It was on perfect price scale for our budget and fit the bill exactly. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival (booked and prepaid through Agoda.com) and given introductions before escorted to our room where tea and cookies were waiting. ||Room is comfortable size for 2 people (little tight for 3) with private bathroom and shower connected to room. Our request for private bath onsen was honored with a 8:40 time for 40 minutes. We were served expected large variety Kaiseki small plates fish and vegetables meal in room then futon beds were laid out for sleep.||The private outdoor bath area is amazing and cozy however after making way down from room and pre-washing, more time would have made it better since 40 minutes is split between all parties in your room. We didn't check out the separate public bath area for men and women, but it is available 24 hours. ||Another nice Japanese spread of fish, tofu and vegetables for breakfast and then check out at 10 am. To me the experience as a whole was worth the price (especially as part of the Hakone Loop sightseeing) despite the slightly uncomfortable bedding and hard tiny pillow and rushed private bath time. ||The staff is friendly, efficient and welcoming. Note the stocked small fridge is just like a hotel mini bar and you will be charged. Complimentary pitcher water is provided.||There is a shuttle from and to the front of Hakone-Yumoto Station for 100 Yen per person and effective baggage delivery service from same station. If you walk, it is a close 10 minutes or so on...

We received a warm welcome even if we arrived two hours in advance. The room was very large, comfortable and clean, looking on the river. We were surprised by our first dinner for quality and quantity of food, all typical Japanese cuisinej. Breakfast the following day was not less. Outdoor private onsen is available on booking for two people at a time, in a beautiful and relaxing zen garden. The staff was always kind and helpful but at the same time very discreet and made all the efforts to make our staying the most enjoyable possible. The landlady speaks English and a little bit of Italian, the staff speak some English or relay on small bookphrases to explain what's going to happen next. Overall our staying was excellent, we strongly recommend...
