We stayed for almost a week at the amazing Hakuba Powder Mountain Lodge. I wish it had been longer !||||We were a group of two families with two adults and three kids. There are three bedrooms and everyone had enough room. The apartments are newly renovated and spotless - you will find everything you need, and the design of the apartment is lovely with lots of wood and that beautiful minimalistic yet so functional Japanese style. The kitchen is well equipped and we were easily able to cook breakfasts and dinners for the hungry kids. There is a central living/eating area where everyone can hang out together, but space in the bedrooms that adults and teenagers can chill out there too if they need some me time! There is a room in the basement where you leave your ski gear, and a modern laundry/washing machine with inbuilt dryer for guests to use. ||||The location is amazing - Wadano is a lovely quiet pocket with mainly families staying there. There are some little food trucks across the road and also some cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The main Sakka quad is on your doorstep - you can ski to most parts of Happo from this starting point. If you want to try one of the other starting lifts on Happo there is a shuttle bus that stops very close by at the base of the quad. ||||One of the highlights of the trip - in addition to the lovely apartment and the great location - was the amazing owner/host Taka. He takes incredibly good care of his guests and it feels as if nothing is too much trouble. Not only did he help us with transport for grocery shopping and to the snow on some days when we didn’t start at Sakka, but he helped me sort out an issue with my train tickets when I had made a mistake with my onward booking, which was above and beyond what he needed to do! If you book Hakuba Powder Mountain, you can be sure that your apartment will be comfortable, the location is excellent, and you will be looked after very well by your host Taka - highly...

Read moreThis resort is fantastic. Honestly my husband and I stayed here a week with our son and we wish we could have stayed longer. Taka and his family were absolutely wonderful people to work with. They made sure we had everything we could possibly need, even menus for local restaurants in Hakuba that were in English for us. Key selling points. 1. It was legitimately 50feet from the lift on Happa-One. No place had a better ski in ski out options compare to this. 2. Each room had its own temperature control which was a plus for us. 3. The floors are HEATED. Huge huge plus in the winter. 4. It had a dishwasher which most places in Japan don’t have. 5. It had a standard Japanese size fridge so it was very big. 6. It had a ski shop rental on the grounds and a perfect spot for us to place our snowboards. 7. It had parking and on sight laundry. Lastly it had a small oven and stove top. This place legitimately had everything i wanted and was so well kept, neat and clean. If I was going to say one negative thing it would be this. The walls echo and we heard the people staying above us stomping around quite a bit. If your baby is under two years old that was the only concern I had because it woke ours up. If you have toddlers, older kids, or just adults. You’ll sleep just fine. It’s not even negative it was just an observation. Honestly if you book there you’ll love it.
Also note: Taka is VERY quick to respond to messages. He lives on the grounds so when our trash was full I’d send a quick email and within minutes after setting it outside our apartment it was gone. I also needed help with our bathtub because i didn’t understand how to use it and again he was at my door before i could even close my phone from hitting send. He truly was a...
