Rooms are clean, and fairly large for 2 people. I stayed in a tatami room with a private bathroom. Bathroom was basic but functional, and the rooftop bath was a great experience in winter. Location was extremely good, walking distance from restaurants, shops and the happo-one bus terminal. There is also a basement room to store your boards/skis/boots, and there's a heater where you can hang your gloves next to to dry as well (makes them nice and toasty for the next day). Didn't have meals here so can't comment on that. ||Not much service to speak of as we were mostly left on our own (including setting up our own futons), although the staff were helpful enough when we asked questions. Read moreLoved this hotel, the staff were friendly and willing to help anyway they could. We had western quad room very spacious and bathroom was new and very clean. Had a nice little view to the slopes and up the street. Loved that you had to take shoes off at door of hotel and they supplied slippers to use to get to room! We were on second floor wouldn’t want to go higher if lots of luggage as no lifts. Would stay here again for sure, had more of feel of staying with locals which I loved. |Do not trust google maps with direction on how to get to hotel, the hotel is quite close to bus stop and google maps had us going in completely wrong direction! This is no fault of hotel it’s just and FYI as...
Read moreThis hotel - get the breakfast. You should really go for the Japanese style - you would have to have pretty unadventurous tastes to be turned off of anything for breakfast. The hotel is close enough to walk both to Happo One and the tourist info centre where you can catch a bus to other ski hills or tours. Staying in the village is worth the little bit extra - you can take a longer walk to the train station too. Plus you have the benefits of a bit of an apres ski culture, with lots of choice. ||||Do not miss out on the roof top baths - just set aside any western reservations and go relax in...
