The chalet was clean, spacious, comfortable and we had a great time!
Location was also wonderful. We could go all the places we wanted to go within 5-10 minutes by car. We parked our car at the parking which is right there by the chalet, which made it very convenient for us.
I loved the hand written welcome note from the staff. It was so sweet.
The whole stay was like going to the summer house, just muuuuch better! Very comfortable and private, and the whole place smells like wood...so refreshing!! (A small tip about the bottom 2 bedrooms: I recommend to leave the doors open and the electric fans on even when you're not using, cuz when the doors closed and no fan on, they can get a damp smell.)
First time in Hakuba, but people we met were all very friendly and nice. We enjoyed SUPing at the lake, going to Onsen, BBQing at the chalet, and visiting Iwatake with such a magnificent view.
We definitely would like to come back again, and recommend you to go during the summer as well as the winter.

Read moreOn a visit to Hakuba, we were fortunate enough to stay in a house that is exactly what I imagined a ski lodge would be like.||The building, entirely made from pinewood, is comfortable, warm, welcoming and bright. The two large bedrooms have attached bathrooms and the lounge/dining/kitchen has to be seen to be believed. Not only is the space very large and well furnished but it also has large picture windows with typical winter views of snow draped forest trees. No doubt guests were meant to sit and stare while clutching warm mugs of cocoa.||The well equipped kitchen makes it very easy for families to prepare simple meals. For those who do not wish to be burdened with domestic chores, there’s a lovely restaurant and bar in the Gateway building within easy walking distance.||The unit we stayed in is one in a cluster of 7 almost similar ( some have 3 bedrooms) lodges making it convenient for several families who are holidaying together.||If we return this would definitely be my choice for a...
