After checking comments about Toyoko Inn in Hiroshima, I noted that a better comment for this branch. Therefore, I booked 3 nights (18-21 Mar 2017).||||I took airport bus #2 to JR Hiroshima and then walked via the subway to JR South Exit. On the ground, we passed over zebra crossing and turned right, then went straight over a river. There was a junction in front of us, went straight and crossed it, we saw the inn at left side. We spent about 20 mins walk from airport bus stop to the inn. If counted the walking distance between JR station to the inn, it was around 10 mins.||||The staff (incl. kitchen staff) is very nice and most of them could speak fluent English. Room is clean and nothing I could complaint. For breakfast, taste was good but………….always full……….no matter was 7:00am or 8:00am……………..lucky that all occupants would leave once finished their breakfast. We just waited for less than 5 mins to have seat.||||The inn is located between 2 tram stops, 1 is Hiroshima station and 1 is Matoba-cho (的場町). The later one is much closer to the inn.||||There are many restaurants in ASSE and Shinkansen Meitengai (新幹線名店街). I have tried 醉心@ASSE 6/F and Tsukemen dipping noodles @ Shinkansen Meitengai G/F (nearby drugstore). Both are delicious||||It is very convenient to take tram to Miyajima (宮島) and A-Bomb Dome (原爆圓頂屋).||||In Miyajima, I tried a restaurant named “焼がきのはやし”. It is famous for eating conger eel and oyster. I tried and the set was very delicious. It located on the shopping street and lot of people to queue for lunch. So, we went back there at 2-3 pm……….haahaaa……….still has a queue at the outside of the restaurant. The queue is a bit shorter than the peak hours.||||Near A-Bomb Dome and Peace Memorial Park, there was a restaurant named “Nagata-ya” (長田屋) which was provided dish of Hiroshima Style Okonomiyaki (廣島燒) only. It was very delicious and worth for us to...
Read moreToyoko Inn Hiroshima Ekimae Minami is a very good budget choice. The hotel is in walking distance from Hiroshima station just across the Ekimae Ohashi Bridge. They have nicely equipped rooms, even a pyjama if you need it. We got rooms in the 13th floor with nice view over the river. If you put the luggage under the bed (this is common in Japan) is the room size not bad. The staff was polite, helpful and friendly. The breakfast is complementary, but the breakfast room is some crowded tables in the lobby. The food is mostly Japanese, but it is possible to get some bread and marmalade if you prefer that. The variety of Japanese food is larger of course, but the breakfast is not this hotel largest advantage. The central location is a plus; it is walking distance to the Atomic Dome, park and museum. The different Shopping areas...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel last night and had a pleasant experience. The hotel is conveniently located very near to the station, which was very convenient for me. The staff were extremely friendly and always had a smile, especially the lady staff members. They made me feel very welcome throughout my stay.
One of the things I appreciated most was the delicious breakfast offered by the hotel. It was a great way to start my day.
I also felt that the hotel takes visitor safety very seriously, which was reassuring. For example, the lift cannot be used without a room card key, adding an extra layer of security.
However, I must mention that the room was a bit small for my liking. Despite this, I would still rate my experience a 9 out of 10. Overall, I had a great stay and would consider staying here again...
