A helpful older male Hiroshima Station Staff cared to walk with us to the stairs from the south exit underground to the stairs up that leads to the taxi line. We appreciate his kindness very much🤝🙇!

Prior to arriving in Hiroshima, in Shin-Osaka Station, we were unable to find the green ticket machines from which we could obtain our tickets. It was stressful as we were unfamiliar with the station’s layout, we have language barrier and there are different ticket machines for numerous trains (subway, JR [Japan Rail], Shinkansen).

We looked for the JR Tickets Office to obtain our Shinkansen tickets from Osaka to Hiroshima and from Hiroshima to Kyoto. The staff requires the credit card used to puchase the tickets online and the long numbers code provided in the email in order to issue the basic fare tickets & reserved seat tickets. Feed both tickets simultaneously at the gate and take both for use at the exit gate upon arrival at your destination.

We had to find the Shinkansen Central Gate then ask the staff at the booth which platform we could board the Nozomi 1 bullet train.

Note the car number on your ticket. Pay attention to the markings on the platform. Ensure that you are standing and waiting to board your train at the spot where your train’s car would stop. Trains stop briefly.

There are trains with 12 cars and those with fewer. That is painted on the platform. It also indicates that your “green” car stops at that particular spot.

There are trains with all seats in all cars are reserved so it is advisable to purchase...
