This is a family owned hotel, maybe about 20 minutes away from Kyoto station (walking), and very close to the Shichijo Station, about a 5 minute walk. There is a Family Mart that is about a 3 minute walk away, and is also on the way to Shichijo Station. The home is very clean, and rooms are very organized. The house is decorated througout and very cute and asthetic. I stayed in a twin room by myself and it was amazing. Staying here was great and a very homey experience.
Before arriving at this hotel I was very homesick. The family here was so kind and welcomed me wholeheartedly, I felt right at home. The owner and grandparents here are very welcoming and the sweetest people ever. I was worried I would have to carry my heavy luggage upstairs but they have a elevator and even offered to help me with my luggage. The owner here is super kind and great with converstaions. When I arrived she noticed how heavy my luggage was and offered to drive me to Kyoto station on my departure day, which was super sweet!! Seeing that I was new to the area, the owner gave me many recommendations, a map of the city, and even walked me to the station. I highly highly recommend staying here if you ever plan to visit Kyoto. I, for sure, will be booking here again if I ever happen to be in Kyoto again.
Thank you to Emiko and her parents for being the kindest and sweetest people ever. My stay in Kyoto was amazing because of...
Read moreWe could not have been happier with our stay at Kyo-Anthu Inn! It's conveniently located next to train and bus stations, and has a few vending machines and local convenience stores that are within walking distance. Moreover, the hospitality here was better than the 5-star hotels we had stayed at in Tokyo and Osaka! The hosts are a tight-knit family that are unbelievably kind. There was a lot of rain during our stay, and when one of us got a little sick, without prompting, the innkeeper listed out what Japanese medications we could purchase and from what locations. Emiko even laid out a few fresh oranges for us, which was so thoughtful! There was even a map of Kyoto that had all of the major attractions available in our room. Emiko took the time to listen to our plans and explained what routes to take on public transit in the mornings, and she sounded genuinely excited for us and our experiences when we returned each day. At the end of our stay, Emiko's mother and father helped load our luggage into their car and drove us to the train station so we wouldn't have to trek in the rain. When we return to Kyoto, we will definitely be returning. Don't hesitate...
Read moreBeautiful Guest House with amazing hosts. This family run Guest House is amazing. It is as good as a 5 star hotel but better! The rooms are spotless and a good size for Japan with all the amenities you could need. However, that is not the best part - the best part is the host family who are very special indeed. From the minute I was collected at Kyoto Station by Emiko and her father I was treated with such kindness and enthusiasm. I felt like I was royalty!||I must not forget the location, which is perfect for visiting all the local attractions, either within walking distance, or a short train ride from the local station which is just a 5 minute walk.||If you stay anywhere else in Kyoto you are just missing out on the best Guest...
