IZUTSU HOTEL KYOTO TAKASEGAWA-BETTEI — Hotel in Kyoto

Spacious unit with a big bathroom. It feels very private since there is only one room per floor. I felt right at home with all the quality amenities: full-size fridge, comfortable bathtub, well-designed bathroom layout, and big cozy beds.

We stayed on the 5th floor, the top floor, and it was mostly quiet. We didn’t hear any street noise, except on the last night when a nearby bar seemed to turn up the volume. Still, we had no problem sleeping at all.

The location is great, surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and bars, but not overly crowded. You can also walk to nearby attractions or hop on the train easily.

The hotel is beautiful, clean rooms and is located right on Potoncho Street, which is perfect if you want to be in the heart of the action. However, there's a major issue: the rooms have absolutely no soundproofing. Potoncho is a very lively and noisy street, especially at night – people shouting, loud music, and partying until 6 a.m. made it impossible to get any rest. If they invested in proper soundproofing, this place could easily be a 10/10. But as it is now, I wouldn’t...

Really excellent location, and a lovely room with a big window overlooking the canal and bustling street. The staff were very also incredibly kind and helpful. This location is not specifically manned and each room has it's own floor, so it's nice and private, but the main building is only a short walk away if you need to stow luggage.
