Tower Records Kyoto Store — Local services in Kyoto

Was cool to see a functioning Tower Records again. Good selection of Japanese and K-Pop artists.

They actually have a solid amount of vinyl for sale in the back for a retail music store like this, which a pretty wide variety in artists and genres. The vinyl is stuffed in too tightly to easily browse through, though. They either need bigger shelves or a few less albums out, because I saw quite a few people having to bend records back a bit to see what they were (or you have to pinch lift them out one at a time).

I recently visited Tower Records in Kyoto, and it was an incredible experience! The selection of music is vast, covering everything from Japanese pop to international hits. The layout is spacious and inviting, making it easy to browse through the albums.

What really stood out to me was the knowledgeable staff; they were super friendly and eager to help me find specific titles. I also loved the unique merchandise and vinyl collection—definitely a must-see for music lovers!

The downside is- their have more CDs and limited number of...

Although the store had a great selection of CDs which meant I chose 5 albums to purchase, the Tax Free option suffered a technical issue which prevented them from refunding tax. They apologised but sent me on my way with no solution offered. Disappointed and ¥1300 poorer. I went back next day to try again, but was told I could only claim tax refund on day of purchase. My explanation was ignored until I demanded to see manager and demanded refund. Still technical issues. Staff were unapologetic, incompetent and unhelpful. AVOID...
