Our first trip to Kyoto, we decided to stay in a traditional house. Our host Keiko was so helpful with planning our trip prior to arrival. We are a family with 3 kids 12,14,16 Keiko’s house has plenty of room for us. It’s location is really central with bus services and 7 eleven and other food shops just a 5 min walk. We don’t speak Japanese, Keiko wrote out the directions to her house in Japanese so when we caught taxis we can just show them, she also gave us her phone number and on 1 occasion we called her to help with translation. The host is very kind, welcoming and informative. Her English is excellent. The host (I wish I knew her name) is the best host I’ve ever stayed with. So kind and willing to go above and beyond with helping her guests.
