This place serves Omurice, which is some sort of Japanese-Western fusion. They make an omelette and stuff it with fried rice, and then cover it with a sauce. The original is a sweet tomato sauce but they have other options like curry.

English menu is available, with many payment options including card. There’s probably going to be a line, we went in the rain at lunch on a weekday, and still had 3 people ahead of us. You’ll need an umbrella since there’s no patio cover and we were all just standing in the rain waiting our turn.

This is comfort food. It’s delicious and filling. The egg has the softness of a real omelette but somehow surrounds fried rice. I do NOT recommend getting the 2x size unless you are truly hungry, because it’s really really big. I think the original flavour is a bit one-note, a little overly sweet, but I prefer spicy things anyways so the curry...

My partner and I came here with high expectations. But we were greeted with an explcit sign that proclaimed that NOTNING on the menu was vegetarian friendly even though the reviews made it seem that there were three options. So I couldn't eat. But they insisted that I must order something to be seated. And so I ordered a ginger ale.

To be fair once you are seated the disclaimers are everywhere. My partner was fine with fish and there was a sentence that said "If you can't eat meat but can eat fish you may choose one of the following". She chose the tofu variant.

Per her experience it was mid, nothing to croon home about. The omelet wasn't flavorful and the rice was a distant dream of what it could be. There was no demiglaze sauce.

I hope google pins my first photo for future adventurous eaters to...

We went to this place hoping for an omurice that was vegetarian friendly. Sadly they are completely inflexible and shut out all vegetarian populations by adding fish or pork sauce to all of their dishes. Even when I opted for one, I was underwhelmed. I’ve had much better/tastier elsewhere. Omelette was bland, and so was the taste for the veggie rice inside. My partner was vegetarian without any option so he wasn’t going to eat. they did not let me eat until he ordered something as well. The ambiance and service felt very sterile, and unwelcoming. I don’t recommend this place based on my experience. I think there’s yummier options for...

Over the past two and a half years of studying in Japan, I've visited Kyoto five times, and I finally feel ready to share my Kyoto food guide. 👘 Crab Highly recommend Sapporo Kaniya, a crab specialty restaurant. It's way better than Kani Doraku. They offer three types of crab, and both the hot pot and sashimi are incredibly fresh. 👘 Grilled Meat Yakiniku Dining Kou, I chose this place because they have a wide variety of yukke (I have no idea what that is in Chinese, see photo 5). To my surprise, I got to enjoy Matsusaka, Kobe, and Omi beef all in one place—truly a blissful experience! 👘 Kyoto Cuisine I recommend Kiyama and Jiki Miyazawa for lunch; they offer great value and satisfaction. Many say Kyoto cuisine is too bland, but I believe it highlights the natural flavors of ingredients and the delightful combinations created by chefs. Finding the right place makes every meal enjoyable. 👘 Udon Nijomon Une-no is by far the best tempura udon I've had in Kyoto after trying four or five places. I prefer light broth, and this place delivers on that front. 👘 Ramen Inoichi (I won't tell you I went here because of Zhu Yilong 😋) but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise—a really good ramen spot. Two others are: Ramen Hare Sora Menjo Takamatsu 👘 Unagi Gion U桶や う 👘 Omurice Omurahausu 👘 Bakery Waldar 👘 Japanese Sweets Gion Tokuya (always crowded) Yuugata Salon de Te (very quiet) 👘 Wagashi Demachi Futaba Shijo Wakuden Sentaro 👘 Coffee CLAMP COFFEE SARASA Smart Coffee Cafe Karelian Lotus (Can you tell I got lazy towards the end and stopped writing descriptions? 😂)
