When a river joins a larger river, it is called a tributary. Tributaries do not join lakes, seas, or oceans directly, but first meets another river. When two rivers of roughly equal size join, that can be called as the confluence.

Yes.....This is the most popular Kamogawa confluence near Demachiyangi in Japan. The Takno-gawa river comes from north-east and join together with Kamo-gawa river in Kamogawa. I captured this shot from Kamo-Ohashi bridge near Kamogawa park..

This is a very beautiful view. Don't forget to visit.

Fantastic View of Kamo River. Water can get super high during the rain season. It is a great starting point for a hike northwards. Demachiyanagi Station is just on the eastern end. I prefer hiking or cycling up Kamo River which branches left...
