It’s decent place for low budget ryoken style accommodation. Just bring ear plugs because there may be people staying there with heavy thumping feet or kids running around early in the morning! Perhaps hotel should remind all guests when they check in (especially those with young children) to walk softly and not make so much noises. I guess ryoken style of accommodation will be less noisy if it’s on ground level and not on higher floor? I am not sure. I just wanted the experience for my spouse and we got it. Thank God we brought the ear plugs and eye shades or we would have suffered woken up by all the thumping feet and noise. Location wise is not great but ok if you are willing to walk less than 5 mins to Gojo station and to bus stops. It takes you about 8 to 10 mins to Kyoto station. Staff at hotel are very pleasant...
