We stayed there in June 2025. Located 12 min walk away from Kyoto station, this accommodation is very conveniently located and away from the crowd. The rooms are not much spacious as the case with most traditional Japanese hotels, but they are comfortable and exceptionally clean. The beds are super comfy, and each room includes a fridge, washing machine and TV. The hotel also provides a comprehensive array of toiletries, including bath towels, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and a hairdryer. They don’t do room cleaning or towel changes during your stay. However, as a washing machine with laundry liquid is provided, the towels can be washed by yourself. The bathroom has heating option and hence cloths will easily get dried in a day. The kitchen includes a kettle and hob, including essential utensils, if you prefer to cook. Internet connection is strong and stable. They also rent bicycles at very cheap daily rates which is very convenient if you want to see the city on a bicycle. It’s a good option as Kyoto is not too much crowded. A vending machine and currency exchange machine are also available near reception. This small hotel is located in an area where many locals live and hence partying at night is not an option as the sound will disturb the neighbors. There is no parking space available at the hotel, but there is paid parking space just around the corner. A Lawson supermarket is just 3 min away by walk. The reception is manned only until 10pm and if you are arriving later than that then you need to inform in advance and they will charge an extra as they need to wait for you. They do most of the check-in process online except for the passport which saves a lot of time during check in. Highly recommended for...
Read moreI gave this hotel a 5 star rating because of the 2 main things: the rooms are fairly new, the dryer system is so unique and convenient, and the receptionist who is super duper helpful and kind to us (her name is Rinikin? I cannot remember, but she is very young and tall, and always wear white blouse with black trousers). I will go into details: The young receptionist is super kind in helping me to help finding a store that can fix a luggage zip which I urgently need! She helped me to find a store that fixed it, even called the store to discuss my questions, how wonderful is that? And she is very kind to help with other things like when we forgot things, etc... The 5 star is for her.
The dryer system is super convenient to use, and very unique as no other hotel has it! This is a game changer.
The hotel is fairly new, comfortable and lovely to stay in. I booked 2 rooms. My room is totally fine, however, the other room, my brother said he smelled something like damp/ wet.
The hotel is not close to any convenience store though, which is a minus. But, the hotel is very close to a temple called Higashi Honganji temple. You should check it out. It is walking distance.
Nearby, there is also a very popular noodle place that has long queue. And some other restaurant options.
The hotel is very close to Kyoto station (1km), and many other attractions not too far away.
I have to warn you that the OLDER receptionist ladies are not as kind as the young one. The older lady refused to provide me with just a pack of cotton pad which is extremely annoying, as we paid and stayed for 7 days!!! and they said sorry no room cleaning at all???? and she even refused me a cotton pad pack???? I did ask very...
Read moreOverall, it was a great value for money! We took the Balcony room, advertised to accommodate 5 people there were 4 of us who stayed. The room was very spacious and was pleasantly surprised by how good the place was! ||||Check-In Experience: There was a little bit of walk from the Kyoto station, but short enough for our moms (who are seniors) to do it with no issues. You'd have to research in advance if you have no internet to guide you to the reception. ||||Service: The staff can speak good English that allowed us to get answers with any of our questions. The property also had an app where you can reach out to them 24/7. One of the staff even accompanied us to get a cab and made sure the driver is clear where we were going, I thought that was not a need but she did it anyway-- we appreciate the concern and great service! ||||Amenities: They've clearly set expectations on their communication on what to expect, they have a complete guidebook on how to use the facilities in the room which was handy. They had provided everything as promised. Everything was in place and clean. ||||Location: It's quite a walk from Kyoto station, but very accessible via taxi. Its not expensive fare but you might want to factor in that there are about 15 mins walk from the Kyoto station which can be a bit much if you're traveling with seniors (which was our case). Places of interest are accessible enough from the...
