We caught a taxi from the train station and was a little concerned we would be out of the way from the major spots to visit. To our surprise we found out pretty quickly a lot were within walking distance. We’re both in our mid to late sixties. Those that weren’t within walking distance were able to be reached by bus or train. |The hotel itself was tucked away in a narrow quiet street. We were met by a staff member who showed us how to use the codes for the doors and how various pieces of appliances worked. |The room was compact but workable. A fantastic location in the Gion district with incredible restaurants, Izakaya, convenience store (the list continues) basically on your doorstep. I highly recommend Torisei simply 4 minutes walk from the accommodation An easy 10-15 minute walk to the hustle and bustle of the main shopping and eating area of Kyoto Train lines, bike rental spots are very close also.
