I have been studying abroad in Japan for a little over 3 months, and stayed at Stay Sakura for around 50-60 days over the course of these past 3 months. It became like a 2nd home, it definitely helped to have a washing machine in the room as well as a kitchen. Bathrooms are pretty spacious and you can even watch TV in the tub! There’s also sauna settings for the shower + bathtub combo.
Staff was always super friendly and accommodating. Sana and Page were always available to help us if we needed, whether it being extra towels, detergent pods, needed a desk, lamp, they were always there. Cleaning staff was also always super friendly, and replaced our towels every 3 days and linens ever 6.
Locationally, it’s adjacent to a good selection of bus stops that can easily take you all around Kyoto, and near to the Sanin Line to get you to Kyoto Station. It’s also far enough away from the touristy areas, and it’s only a 20-30 minute bus ride, which isn’t bad at all (at least by American standards). Lot of local restaurants and convenience stores, 10 minute walk to some grocery stores too. 5/5...
Read moreThis was a very comfortable place to stay at. Very spacious for the 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids). Complete with a small kitchen, washing machine and a place to dry your clothes in the toilet area. Because of this, it was really cosy to bathe in during winter as we could set it to be very warm. The place was clean. All the front desk staffs we encountered were helpful & friendly, helped us with storing our luggage when we arrived early & wanted to check out early as well.Location wise, it was slightly far from the city centre but there were two bus stations, one is right in front the hotel (this goes straight to places like Arashiyama). To the other bus station, it was around less than 10minutes walk. It’s also around 10-15min walk from major supermarkets & other convenience stores.I would highly recommend this hotel esp for families.Sorry we didn’t take any room photos tho to upload with...
Read moreDo not recommend this hotel! Worst customer service we received on our entire stay in Japan, they were rude and didn't take I to consideration children. We checked in at 8pm at night with 2 children into our room with a futon and no bedding supplied for futon. After asking for the bedding they requested an additional fee of $168. We refused to pay the additional fees as we had already pre-booked, paid and checked in. They asked us to leave the hotel even while we were on the phone to Expedia. My family were upset so we decided to find alternate accommodation so they could sleep. They refused to provide us a refund for the remaining nights, even though they asked us to leave and wouldn't provide us with the bedding. Rooms are small, would not recommend as there are much nicer places within the area. Still trying to...
