First impression when we entered the machiya were horrible. There were hornets inside and I found a spider egg nest in the living room. They gave us the wrong luggage. The man who came to fix the luggage situation also killed the hornets, so thank you very much to him. There was also coffee stains all over the counters in the kitchen and on the living room table. We were not very impressed with our stay considering we spent 63,000¥ for 2 nights. I took photos of the stains when I arrived so I won’t be blamed for it. I recommend...

We had a wonderful stay in Yuzunoe. The machiya is very clean, well designed with modern facilities and still keeps some traditional features of the house. Check-in was easy and the staff were very helpful and responsive. We would like to have a different experience from staying at a hotel while in Kyoto and it definitely exceeded our...
