I travel a lot and spend a lot of time researching places to eat as food is a big part of experiencing different cities for me. I made a reservation at this restaurant because of its ratings and recommendations. I am disappointed to say that I cannot recommend this restaurant to others. Our experience here was something I have never experienced before in any other city. We sat next to a family with a small baby (nothing I have not experienced before), but after about the first 30 minutes the baby was screaming and the grandma at the table was screaming louder to distract the child. We spent our entire dinner unable to hear each other and honestly I had a headache by the time I left. The staff at the restaurant did not even as much as acknowledge our experience. After paying the bill we asked if they could call us a cab and they told us they were unable to do so because it was a busy season with many tourists in town; we thanked them and walked out and literally were able to hail a taxi within seconds. Not sure whether the owners of the restaurant really didn’t want any tourists in their restaurants or whether they knew that our experience was far from acceptable and they did not want to spend any more effort on us. I would like to acknowledge that our server was very polite and did his best to provide us with good service and for that I would like to thank him. Don’t waste your time or money here, as there are so many restaurants in Kyoto that are much better and happier to have...
Read moreThis place was so good. We're Vegetarian and have found Japan hard to find great places to eat, so Pizza has been a great fall back for us. This Pizzeria was like being I'm Naples, where we'd been only 2 months ago. If only they had an aperol or campari spritz on the menu we'd have been back in Naples. The waiting staff were lovely too.
I'm gonna say it this was the best Pizza we've had by far. Great work guys. For us the Tiramisu could do with a little more booze and coffee but was still delicious. If it wasn't for Kyoto's great veggie scene we'd have gone back for more. For Vegans they also had a Marinara Pizza (no cheese) and we're happy to remove the Parmesan for us on the...
Read moreCame on a Tuesday night and the place was not busy. The staff are nice but not overly so. The decor isn’t anything surprised and kind of Italian cliché, but that stuff doesn’t matter so much.
The margherita pizza we had was tremendous. Delicious! Flavorful! The pizza was a perfect balance of cheese, tomato sauce, and a little bit of basil. The dough was thin but had a lovely chewy texture that wasn’t underdone or too charred.
I was surprised by the quality and taste of the pizza. If you feel like deviating from the usual Japanese fare, this place is worth your Yen. We also had wine that was decent, very dry, but worth pairing with the pizza.
Give this...
