We have stayed twice in Actel Hotel during our 3 week Japan Holiday last May 2024. We will definitely book Actel again in the future.
It is in the best location in Nagoya and affordable for what it has offered.
It is walking distance to Sakae train station, Don Quijote, Nagoya Tower and Oasis21. There are heaps of food places around and the area is very safe just even late at night. It is very central with several shopping malls all within walking distance.
The staff were amazing and cery accommodating. They can speak good English and have a translation device if needed.
Wifi was fast, no trouble with the connection at all.
The room we booked was decent size for a Japanese hotel. The guests have options if they want room service or “Do not disturb” - they still provide fresh towels, slippers and pajama outside the door if you choose not to be disturbed.
The hotel has a smoking area in the reception that really fascinated me. No smoke smell at all to think it was not an enclosed area. One of those Japan-amazing stuff I told my friends back in NZ 😄
Lotions, bath salts, combs, toothbrush, etc are available in the get your own amenities section in the reception.
The coin washer and dryer were very handy for our 3week Japan travel. There’s also a microwave, vendo for drinks and ice maker near the reception area for the guests.
Some items can be borrowed too like iron and iron board, hair tools (curler, straightener) and umbrellas.
Luggage storage was available and the reception also helped us with forwarding our luggages to Narita Airport in Tokyo.
The hotel was very clean and we had a very comfortable stay. Highly...
Read moreWhile my stay at Actel Nagoya Nishiki hotel had its ups and downs, there were some notable aspects worth mentioning. Firstly, the location left much to be desired, as it was situated in what I found to be the dirtiest district in Japan. This detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the inconvenience of having to check in on the second floor was unexpected and slightly frustrating. However, despite these drawbacks, the room itself was quite pleasant. It was well-appointed and provided a comfortable retreat after a long day of exploring the city. The amenities offered were satisfactory, and I appreciated the effort put into maintaining cleanliness within the room.Ultimately, I was relieved that my stay was only for one night. While the hotel had its shortcomings, the comfort of the room helped offset some of the less desirable aspects of the experience. If convenience and location are not top priorities, and you're in need of a decent place to rest for a short stay, Actel Nagoya Nishiki hotel...
Read moreWhen I came to check in I was 20 minutes early, so they made me sit and wait to check in. Then someone else arrived after me and they checked that couple in first.
Single rooms are glorified coffins, so comicly tiny as to be unsafe. I kept bumping myself on corners and walls, and the bathroom is a good 30cm above the floor, so it's a significant and dangerous step up/down.
There was NOWHERE to adequately open your suitcase, so I had to move a shelf and a humidifier from the floor to above the bed (as pictured) to be able to get to my belongings. When you do open your suitcase there is nowhere to walk. Powerpoints are in awkward positions, and all the amenities are all in the lobby so whenever you need ANYTHING it is a trip to the lobby. My room smelled like mould. The "free" coffee machine was always "unavailable due to maintainence. Why even have a coffee machine if youre not going to let anyone use it?
I...
