0 Stars. DO NOT. I REPEAT: SAVE YOUR VACATION AND DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PLACE!!!||||I got scammed by the nice looking photos of Japanese rooms too but here's how it really went:||||As other reviews have already mentioned, this is not a standard hotel. This is more close to a hostel. Branding themselves as a hotel while being a skull-and-bones airbnb is another one of their scams. There are no staff on the property and all ammenities and resources are shared. Want extra towels? Go to the janitor's closet in the maintenace area and hope the door is open or there are still towels left. Have any questions? Well, there are no staff so let's hope you get a reply the next day whether you're still there or will be scared off by then.||||Had a stay for 4 nights but on the first night the hallway on my floor just happened to be the one chosen for a fight. I'm not talking about a couple's spat or a roommate argument but a full on gang-fight between 3 men. Each floor is shared by 3 rooms and one group just decided to make 3AM - 6AM hell on Earth that night by banging all around the place and ringing my doorbell and knocking on my door to try to get me involved. Eventually it died down but I still could not leave because 1 guy got knocked out and is passed out on the floor right in front of my door and blocking the elevator. ||Eventually he woke up and left at around 10AM and that is when I, too, left and never looked back.||||Of course I did not get any sleep (imagine not gettting sleep on a vacation; it pretty much ruins one of your vacation days) but was awake the entire time trying to contact staff or security. There were none, of course. I found that the only way to contact the hotel was through the Line app so I did and obviously did not get a response until I was already far away from this place. That's right: I left even though I still had 3 nights left but there is no price to pay for rest on a vacation and more importantly not having PEOPLE TRY TO BREAK INTO YOUR ROOM AND KILL YOU IN A SHADY PLACE. ||Get this: when the hotel messaged back they said it was probably just some drunks and to enjoy the rest of my stay.||(Why didn't I call the police? A foreigner calling the cops in a shady establishment and being ignored is a common story you hear about unfortunately)||||Don't make my mistake. The nice photos of Japanese rooms, the nice looking curtains at the entrance, them calling themselves a hotel when it really is just a hostel ($200 per night btw) and the lack of staff are now obvious signs of a...
Read moreStaff impressions: Matter of fact, good command of english, helpful.||||||Room amenities: we stayed in a Japanese style room. It felt very recently updated. Tatami was fresh, wood looked new, en suite bathroom was very modern. Had a TV, mini-fridge, safe, microwave, induction cooktop (but no pans). Beds were futons, clean, new, pretty typical in terms of comfort. Ductless heater/AC.||||||Room oddities, if you're not from Japan or haven't traveled in Japan before: ||1) The lights/AC/power will not turn on until you drop your key in a slot on the wall by the door.||2) There is a panel on the wall that has a number in Celsius. This is the temperature control for the how tater heater for your bathroom. If you don't turn this on before your shower you won't get hot water! :)||3) The overhead light can be turned off at night. One of the remote controls in the room is the controller for the overhead light. Don't take your key out to turn off the light, it'll kill your AC/heat.||4) The level of service you typically receive in a Japanese hotel room like all linens replaced every day, bathroom stuff (toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps, shoes, etc.) being replaced, etc. will not happen. Didn't bother me as I don't care for that but it might be off putting if you're used to it but the price is great.||5) Ductless AC/heater is controlled with a remote control.||||||Location: About 900m to the closest train station which can be a haul with your bags. Super close to Nippombashi which was a big selling point for us. Kinda on a side street so quiet and...
Read moreI’m from Canada and this is really like 4 star hotel. It’s better 3 stars comfort inn or quality inn and other 2/3 stars in America. This place seemed to improved since I read some bad reviews about their pillows and stuff. Or maybe we just lucked out. It is a nice hotel with comfy fluffy pillows. The washrooms are clean and pretty modern I’d say compared to 3 stars back home. The comforters are nice. Everything seemed to be well kept. The only downside I’d say is that they only provide ONE key card. We had 3 rooms with 3 people/room and there’s only one key card to go around. Also if the key card is not in the slot in the room, ALL the lights will turn off automatically. So not only u only get 1 key card between 3 people, the lights do not work if one person wants to stay in hotel and the other needs the card to go out.. so either the key card stays in hotel for the person staying in and the people outside will need to knock on door (hopefully not showering cuz they might not hear it).. or the person takes the key card out with them and leaves the ppl staying in hotel with no light accessible.. not sure why they operate it like that (maybe to save electricity but that should be illegal if we’re paying for our stay we should be able to use the lights since we paid for it during that period). Anyways that’s a huge downside for us since we’re a large group and want to explore different things but only limited to one card and can’t even stay in hotel without the card because we can’t see without electricity...
