My son is a Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba fan. You need a reservation to go and the system is really challenging and hence why I think not many tourists go. Reservations are a lottery system through LivePocket. Not only do you have to sign up an account but you have to verify a phone number to verify your account. I was able to use an international number. They release openings generally about a week before and you have to apply for whatever dates and times you want. You find out a couple days later if you were chosen. I initially didn't get any of the times i applied for but they ended up releasing more availability (I just kept checking) and was able to secure a reservation. You can pay using credit card or at a konbini like Lawsons or Family Mart. Surprisingly the cafe wasn't full when I went. There are no English menus and the staff do not speak English (so there was a lot of Google translate going on). With the type of reservation I got, each person got 2 drinks. Food was extra that you have to pay for. There's slips of paper you have to fill out to indicate what 2 drinks you want and if you want to add food. Very limited menu but the drinks and food were all related to whatever theme is going on (they were featuring Obanai and Mitsuri when went). The cool part was they displayed original drawings of the anime. You could see notes on the paper and how the artist drew the character. Next to the drawing you would see what the final still shot in the actual anime looked like - pretty cool. There were no pictures allowed of these displays. They also have TVs showing clips of the anime, and when we went, the trailer for the first Infinity Castle movie. Food and drinks were a but hit and miss but we got drinks coasters and a paper place mat since my son ordered food. Nice little keepsakes. There's original merch you can buy, all a bit over priced but they were selling a Kaburamaru stuffie that we had to buy.
