Maidreamin is a good place to experience the maid cafe experience, as well as experience Japanese culture. If you’re learning Japanese, it’s also a good place to practice.
They’re 2 Maidreamin locations in Osaka. This is the オタロード”Ota Road”, location. It’s surrounded by many game shops, and other stores that sell anime goods, with an arcade close by.
The venue itself is fairly smaller, but still cozy. I recommend coming here if you’re in the area and just want to sit down somewhere to relax, specially if you’re in the area to shop.
It’s a great experience, whether your alone or even if your with your family and friends. Everyone is friendly and they’ll do their best to see that you’re having a fun time.
I highly recommend ordering a course meal if it’s your first time going. The course includes omurice(you can also choose curry), an animal headband, and a picture with a maid or your choice. You can also choose a course that includes an animal dessert parfait, and a drink.
Prices usually range from ¥3,200-¥4000 for a course, and you can stay for an hour. Each additional hour can be added for an additional ¥880. The maids do their best to accommodate, and language barrier isn’t really a problem even if you don’t speak Japanese.
You can also request live show performances from a maid of your choosing, where they will dance (and in some cases sing), a song of your choosing (please ask a maid for a live show list). The songs are mostly related to anime and/or Japanese idol culture, but some maids will also know some JPOP/KPOP songs too. Live show requests typically cost ¥3500 for 1 song, 3 pictures with a maid of your choosing, and 2 pen light sticks. There is also a live song request for ¥3700 that includes a drink, 1 photo and a snack. It’s worth it if you’re not hungry and you want to just experience the maid cafe experience. If you’re visiting with friends and not extremely hungry, consider splitting a course meal along with a live show request for the best experience.
It’s definitely worth experiencing if you’re coming to Japan. It’s a fairly quick experience, and good for flexible planning in a trip (or just a good time to rest for...
Read moreI went here today after being turned away from at home cafe where I needed to have registered in advance. My experience at Maidreamin was very fun, and definitely well worth it.
First, let’s discuss the process. You pay an entry fee + the cost of food and drinks. It is an hour limit for the stay. You can get items a la cart, but they recommend a course menu which consists of a meal, drink, photo with a maid, and a small gift. You can choose a second photo if you prefer it over the gift, which I did. The photo is a choice of a digital one using your phone, or a polaroid, which they cutely write all over to make it more personal. The entry fee and cost of food was fine, nothing crazy, but not necessarily cheap enough to go every day. Good value.
The maids were very friendly. Whenever I spoke to one, they chatted with me happily and with energy. I was even approached a couple times without initiating with them commenting on my Cinnamoroll shirt, which I think is rare for a maid cafe. Usually you have to approach them. I especially loved Nanachi; she was super cute!
The food was pretty good, and very cute. The maids are very talented. If you order omurice, which I did and took photos of, they will draw something on it. They drew Cinnamoroll on mine because of my shirt (lol). For every drink and food item they will do a cute moe chant with you. It’s fun if you get into it, so don’t be embarrassed and give it your all! Everyone is doing it, after all.
For the polaroid photo, you don’t have to stress about poses and the such, as the maids are pros and will suggest cute poses to do together. It’s a calm and quick proceeding.
You can also order fun activities to do with the maids, such as games or for them to do a performance with you. Their dancing is really good, and they sell penlights beforehand if you’d like to cheer for them.
Overall a great time!...
Read moreThis was my first time at a Maid Cafe, and I went to Maidreamin Nippombaashi because it had great reviews and was close to public transit. I arrived a bit early, before my reservation and luckily there were just two seats open, so the maids allowed me to snag one for myself.
All of the Maid-san’s are delightful though! They seem genuinely invested in having you partake in the magic ritual for your drink and food and also curious about you in general. During the live dance performance (and I think there’s usually at least one? Every like hour or hour and a half unless someone buys one sooner) Myaco-san even went around to customers and did heart hands with them. Shampoo-san also stole the show with killer dance moves. The maid-san with ookami ears also is a phenomena performer and such a sweet person to talk too.
There’s extra souvenirs you can buy for a fee, as it’s my first experience at a maid cafe I splurged for the 4700 package that included a meal+desert+drink+souvenir prop (I chose a maidreamin folder, but there’s keychains and like animal ears too)+a picture with one of the maids afterwards. Otherwise no pictures or videos of any of the maids or patrons in the establishment is allowed.
The food I found was very kawaii and personally I thought it was delicious. Though some stuff (like the baby bears curry) was sold out too. So be cautious of that. Also I didn’t know until the very end after I had closed my check (also all ordering for food, souvenirs, everything, is done online after scanning a QR code) about the tipping tickets, which sucks. But you can buy tip tickets for your favorite maids apparently and give them to the...
