I recently stayed at Super Hotel Ueno-Okachimachi and had a wonderful experience. The hotel’s location is excellent, situated near both metro and JR train stations, with the JR station equipped with an elevator, making it very convenient for travelers with luggage. It’s also easily accessible from Narita Airport via the Keisei Skyliner. The hotel is within walking distance to Ueno Shopping Street (Ameyoko Market), and there are numerous restaurants and stores nearby, including Uniqlo, GU and Don Quijote. The value for the service and location is exceptional. The room was spacious by Japanese standards, allowing me to open my luggage on the floor comfortably. The receptionists were friendly, welcoming, and polite, making me feel very welcomed. Breakfast was delicious, offering a Japanese-style buffet with some salad and cereals. While the variety was limited, the quality was very good. However, the dining area is quite small and can be crowded in the morning.A standout feature is the free alcohol bar available from 6-8 pm, a rare offering among Tokyo hotels. The hotel provides a wide range of amenities, including the option to choose your pillow preference. I recommend you selecting your pillow in advance before the evening, as they may run out later. They also provide high-quality skincare products for women and pajamas, with additional amenities available at the lobby. The room was clean, featuring a smart TV and a...

Read moreOne of the best hotels in Tokyo. I loved it. This hotel is located next to vegetarian restaurants, other shops, 7-Eleven, and Ueno/Okachimachi metro station. It has everything. We had booked connecting rooms and they were good. Not big but it's understandable it's Tokyo.
They run out of pillows by evening so please make sure you take your pillow from reception by 4-5 pm max. Also I found the bedsheets a bit brownish. They don't clean the bedsheets that good enough or maybe they don't bleach and make it white like other hotels. However they do provide fresh new white blanket covering the brown blanket so I had no issues and also other things were clean and there was no smell whatsoever. Bathrooms felt a bit short. (I am 6 feet). Breakfast buffet has less choices which I think they can increase it and add more vegetarian options. But I do appreciate the bread buns, tasty cornflakes (one of the best cornflakes ever), veg curry&rice. It was very good and kinda enough for a vegan.
Shortcomings: blankets not very white/clean, small bathrooms, pillows should be available to take/choose 24/7, more vegan/vegetarian friendly options for breakfast should be added(maybe sauted vegetables, hash browns etc).
Advantages: very friendly staff, good location,...
