I visited this ramen shop twice during my visit in the ueno area back in September of 2024. With that being said this is by far the best place I have ever been to any where in the entire world! The staff are super friendly and helpful especially for new people. This place was discovered by my ex wife who found it via Instagram. We both had the pork tonokatsu with added veggies. The shop offers a good selection of ramen and add ons for a really good price. The shop has table top seating and is limited in seats so during the popular meal times expect to wait for a seat. Each time we went we waited for a seat and the staff had set up seats and water / tea stations outside which was a great touch of customer service while you wait to get in. The ramen was so flavorful and was a good portion size which is good. You definitely will leave full and satisfied for sure. The staff are very excited for you to experience their food and even will help you decide on what to order based on their personal favorites. The staff always great you and say bye when you leave and go above and beyond to satisfy your ramen indulgence experience. I highly recommend stopping by this shop if you're in the area. I will be back in December...
Read moreI ordered a takeaway Pork Bone Vegetable Ramen for „1,000 at Hakata Ramen Ichiban. After paying, I filled out a form with my preferences like noodle doneness and spice level, then was told to wait outside with the dine-in queue. As people ahead of me went in, I was still waiting. Eventually, another staff member asked me to order and pay again, and I had to explain several times in different ways that Iâd already paid, there seemed to be a bit of a language barrier, which made things confusing. She asked me to wait, and I noticed the chefs looked a bit unsure and seemed to be working casually, which made me a little worried about how the food would turn out. Shortly after, the staff who took my order ran out, handed me my ramen, and apologized; I smiled and told her it was okay since mistakes happen.
When I got back to my hotel nearby and opened the ramen, the noodles were undercooked, hard and starchy. The bean sprouts and cabbage were just boiled and bland, the gravy was flavorless, and there were a few pieces of rubbery intestine. The only saving grace was the broth, which was actually fantastic, but overall, I wouldnât recommend this based on my experience and the quality...
Read moreAmazing ramen at an affordable price. Their signature, which is a bowl of ramen with rich tonkotsu broth, a lava egg, pork chashyu, and a side of been sprouts with some sauce, is 1000 yen. Without the bean sprouts, it's 800 yen. You get to customise the taste of the broth and noodles much like many other ramen joints. I such to normal for everything, and I loved it. The ramen had a good bite to it, the broth was rich and tasty without being overly salty. Didn't really appreciate the bean sprouts though, and I would've liked more chashyu.
There's iced water that's self service, and service was very prompt and attentive. The server was very friendly despite not speaking much English, and he tried his best to communicate with gestures and accommodate my family's request (with 3 young children, luggage and a stroller). Despite going for a late dinner at 9+pm, it was packed with locals and travelers alike. We ordered via the vending machine and waited for about 30 min before being...
